Liam Rosenior | Chelsea Man Ager

for a club that changes managers as frequently as them, that is nuts. With his lack of experience I'm sure he'd have been glad of the opportunity to manage a top club on a much shorter contract.

Aah ok. So is he part of the Chelsea organization now? Is he the next in line?

Technially he's part of the BlueCo organisation now, the consortium group that own both Chelsea and Strasbourg. But yeah, that's the running joke among Chelsea fans. Gary O'Neil, Chelsea manager in 2027.

Ouch, well he had a little decent run for Wolves at one point, but I didnt see him as a top level manager, but he is very young and just starting out. It's about youth with you guys at both levels.

So what are Chelsea nowadays? Just a glorified player development club that needs to turn a profit for their owners?

Pretty much what I was wondering. Are the fans annoyed that they are just a club focused on flipping players and managers?

Of course. If this team had a modicum of leadership on the pitch we'd be far further up both tables. The amount of points we've dropped from winning positions is staggering and it's down to having panicky CBs. The owners telling Maresca to just use Acheampong instead of Colwill is staggeringly stupid in hindsight.

Chelsea Supporters' Trust did a survey after Maresca was sacked and >90% of responses have no confidence in ownership.

More I look at it Guehi would be the perfect signing for what Chelsea need in the coming seasons. He's grown into a leader at Palace captaining them to FA Cup. Left Chelsea at 21, months after they won CL so surely no annoyance at not getting a chance there as it was still Abramovich owned.

O.k Man. City and others want him but you signed Caciedo ahead of Liverpool.

If Chelsea are showing no interest because he is 26 in July that would be bonkers.

Can't speak for them but I'd say most Chelsea fans would say if they wanted to watch a side full of young players than do what they did for that season under Lampard when Abraham, Mount, Reece James, Tomori and Lamptey were all promoted to the first team squad. Actual home grown players and so more identity with the fanbase. Chelsea finished top 4 reasonable comfortably so the policy wasn't a disaster at all, Lampard just wasn't good enough to reach the heights Tuchel did.

Yeah a few of us were clamouring for Guehi in the summer. Couldn't agree with you more that he'd be perfect with Colwill out and then theoretically as a partner for him down the line.

I don't mind the focus being on young players and on balance I think it's sensible - but it equally can't be the sole driver of player recruitment. I actually think it's smart to build a core of top young players on a similar timeline once you've identified they're developing well - but the key next step is to then bring in the missing established pieces to kick on and be actually competitive.

In retrospect I wonder if the CWC win in the summer just made the owners more convinced they are the smartest people to walk the earth. Certainly seems that way given how stubborn they continue to be.

Such an odd appointment. Never struck me as somone who'd be at one of the top PL jobs. Be surprised if he he's still there come the end of next season
Huge gamble

Dont mean to wish bad luck to anybody, but feels like he wont even make CL positions (esp if we get our shit together) and will be let go as soon as the Summer

Very on brand for Chelsea

Amorim lasted full year..you just never know these days
Amorim lasted at United. Chelsea is a whole different deal

Also, not exactly the same topic, but Amorim at least had won league in Portugal and played Champions League before coming to us. Rosenior has not won ANYTHING as a manager. Anybody knows wtf Boehly was smoking when they hired Rosenior?

Not sure what it is but I’m getting Brendan Rogers cringe delusion vibes from Rosenior. Can’t see him garnering respect from the players but wish him well

Neither had Maresca before he moved to Chelsea, and didn't do too badly even if nothing spectacular.

All the things we're all thinking and saying about Rosenior now, we were all thinking and saying about Maresca 18 months ago. The only difference being Maresca somehow had the aura of someone who knew what he was talking about, maybe due to him not being English and being a Pep disciple.

Yeah, reading some of his quotes this morning he definitely has that about him. It only looks silly if you don't back it up though.

It’s just words. Every manger that joins a new club say similar things. Saying things and producing are a lot different.
Amorim couldn't even say that, instead he told us we will suffer. And we did to be fair.

This Chelsea team and United team/changing room Amorim started with are 2 different situations

"You can change your wife, your politics, your religion, but never, never can you change your favorite football team." - Eric Cantona

A United fan should know that, fecking brown-nosing fraud. He is trying to beat record of shortest perm manager tenure at Chelsea, if he continues like this

He's from London, anyone not from Manchester isn't a proper Man United fan anyway so it doesn't count.

At least he’s saying positive things, rather than saying he was forced to join mid-season and he didn’t want to.

When he takes the United job in 4 years time he will say he is an even massiver United fan.

Your going of one previous manager of ours. What about everyone els that says this club needs to be challenging for the title yet never delivered.
