He's the right profile. A charismatic young manager who plays good football. It might not work, but that's a good choice.

It’s a shite source but IF Nagelsmann is open to the idea then break the (already broken) bank for him, wouldn’t be averse to Frank either but voted for the German so hopefully, not getting my hopes up though

Thought Naglesmann might want to stay on for the WC but like someone said he's young for that type of job, can see he probably wants to get back to big club football and take on the PL. He has plenty of time for international management, that said I was impressed with Germany in the Euros and how he had them playing after Flick, it can be bit boring day to day but it's a lot to give up still, they could be a serious contender for the WC.
How many chances does a coach get to win a world cup with your own country. I can understand him going for that and trying to achieve that. Maybe United’s pull is big enough but I doubt it with Nagelsmann in this situation.

Immediately after doing some research and concluding Hoeness was the one for me I get a notification about Amorim haha.

Have some immediate reservations but no doubt I need to do a deeper dive and I hope it works out.

Thank goodness managers don't see clubs the same way fans see them. Most managers would jump at the chance to manage the club even in its current state. We are still a huge huge draw to any manager who has confidence in their abilities. The manager that takes United back to the top will be seen as an all time great just off that alone. I know some fans on here think our club is not desirable but trust me it will be to 99% of managers out there, including the likes of Nagelsman.
Agreed. The same thing was being said two years ago; that because of his success, ETH wouldn’t consider us.

I reckon there’s a relatively small number for whom the job would be a hard no. Pep and Klopp for obvious reasons. Alonso is probably holding out for Real. Managers at our main rivals are unlikely to move. Most of the rest could be persuaded with the right offer

United could always get Nagelsmann ,Inzaghi,Iraola, Frank or Simeone next year.
We're a carousel.

As long as it’s not Southgate. If somehow Ineos have some sort of collective brain fart and appoint him I really don’t know what I’ll do. Might just go full on super villain and become like the Joker or something.

Not really a great list of managers to choose from so honestly don’t care as long as it’s not Southgate. At a push I’d maybe lean towards Emery more than any of the others, unless the Don fancies a crack at it. SAF’s original pick.

WOW - fairly certain reporting from Ornstein...was not expecting this today. Pleasantly surprised!

Holy crap wow it's really happening?!

I've read that Amorin isn't quite all that high press all out brave football as much we think though.

Where are the Sporting fans?!

Before our match against Brentford, former Liverpool player, Jan Mølby, stated to Danish television that he knows for sure that Manchester United have been in contact with Brentford to hear how much they want to let Thomas Frank go.

Jan Mølby also stated that he does not know whether United have asked about other managers as well. But they have certainly asked about Thomas Frank.

Amorim would be an exciting appointment, just like ETH back then.

Is this why we've been hoarding CBs? Moving to 3 at the back with Amorim.

I do wonder if Bruno knew about this potential appointment when he talked about Amorim during the international week with Portugal? If so, his influence at United far exceeds than what I’d like.

As a former Sporting player he had plenty of reason to talk about Amorim without it having anything to do with this, feels like a huge jump. I would guess he was asked about him as well, not brought him up out of nothing.

I just want to watch us have some intensity. I’m so fecking sick of watching zombie football.

Doesn’t matter who’s been in charge since Sir Alex. We’ve wasted so much time in matches farting about and only got going once we’ve had our nose bloodied.

I want blood and thunder from the off.

*just seen the Ornstein tweet. Is he the one?

Same here, sick of zombie football I'd have had more patience with ETH if we were losing 4-3 even

What's Amorims football like? I know a lot of people in here have said they'd like us to go for him. Will he be able to keep these down tools at a drop of a hat wasters in line?

Gone with Frank, not only is he a great tactition, but his premier league experience will be invaluable, given our current situation. He'd be the best candidate imo to come in and hit the ground running, also seems like the players here, can be a good fit for his style/tactics.

Holy ! Looks like Berrada & board made up their mind.

Can they stick to it, we'll see, but this guy needs to succeed, and seriously stomp the problems, rather than assess it.

Pretty sure Alonso will leave after this year though. But Amorim, Naglesmann are both fine by me. Just get rid of ETH now.

Strongly looking like Amorim now, let’s hope he proves us right. It’s a big step up, so we’ll see. Quite right though, we simply needed to move on from ETH and quickly.

Frank also can play with 3 at the back. But the massive bonus for me, is his PL experience.

"Thomas Frank is one of the best. It's just a question of time [before he joins a big European club], it's going to happen. I'm good in a few things, one of which is reading when the manager is good." Pep

Hopefully Amorim can quickly gain the confidence and trust from the players. Feels like we may need someone with a bit more experience (as in the traditional top 4-6 leagues) and weight behind them. Erik was of the same guild from the Dutch league, especially a mid season appointment - you need to galvanise quickly to build momentum.
