I was for shutting him down for the season after his last injury, feared the worst for him today, but played like a proper leader, not far off legendary stuff.
I liked Heinze and Tevez for us...
The only player who was very unlikable was Di Maria.
Romero, Veron, Rojo, even Tevez were and are still likable. I believe Tevez talks highly about us. Not too sure about Heinze. He was a bit thick thinking we would let him leave for Liverpool.
He's a fecking warrior, and up there with the best defenders we've had at the club in the last 30 years.
It's a shame varane is off/always injured. He needs a proper partner. Not Maguire, not lindelof. A proper wanker of a defender next to him. And with dalot there too - it's a proper old school defense, but with proper modern football ability.
Won quite a few aerial duels against him too. Wonder what Jamie Carragher thought of it?He absolutely bullied Haaland today to the point Haaalad was desperate for a penalty to be given.
Even Pep knows Martinez is world class.

The club wanted Pau torres instead of him.
But nah Ten Hag's fault.

Didn't they try this at Ajax and it wasn't overly impressive? I have recollection of it being mooted when we were linked to him.Imagine him being a CM? I think he would do a lot of good in there and maybe get two CBs behind him. I know he is great at CB, but he could be better at CDM imo

Give him some rope. He has just come back from injury and did a job for a good chunk of the match. He's exactly what we need, what we should be building around.Brilliant player but surely he can't be injured again. If he can't stay fit for more than a month at a time then we need to look elsewhere.
