Hairpulling is such a btch move
Think he did it in the Dutch league as well
What about hair-holding, like he did yesterday for a split second

Ah yes, he didn't have to anticipate anything at all,Yes. It was very good defending. However it wasnt racing across to save a goal, it was just standing still and clearing it from a set piece
I think we make this excuse too often for our players, we need a bigger, faster and stronger CB than Martinez. Just like we need a much more mobile CM than Casemiro. We need to stop trying to accommodate these players because they are exceptional in small aspects of their roles. Or trying to make excuses becise of who they have to play with, we just need better and more well rounded players.
Ah yes, he didn't have to anticipate anything at all,
Firstly, they've barely been fit at the same time together. Secondly, they're both suited to play on the right. Thirdly, they're both slow. Fourthly, neither are elite defenders either.
Though a fit De Ligt is probably the closest we have to a suitable CB if we could find a partner for him who's better than him and has pace. But he's never fit anyway so irrelevant.
Brutal that we've left ourselves with so many holes in the squad.
He doesn't need to be faster/quicker than he is in order to be a better defender? What are you on buddy?
Same story. Why would you hold someone's hair. It's just daft and gives the ref an excuse to send you off. What about hair-holding, like he did yesterday for a split second
Yeah I agree. We are supposed to be building a team to challenge in a season or two, that means looking at every area to see where we have weaknesses. We have a lot of players who I think are good enough to be in the squad of a title challenging team, Martinez included, but if you think about a team that can go toe to toe with City for a league, or a PSG/Bayern for a champions league, most of our players don't start including Martinez.
Did he not make it to the line to save a goal in the first half?
That's like saying why do you need heating in Siberia during winter when Earth is orbiting the sun...
I've said that have I?
You know what mate, after reading your responses I've concluded that it is absolutely pointless to engage in any discussion with you. Have a nice day.Its like asking why he needs to be faster when he's average paced and it was enough to cover our other defenders and goalkeeper moving to the goal line for a clearance

His red was soft but it typifies why he cannot play there and needs more support.
It´s not the height aspect for me. Cannavaro was of a similar height and I reckon he would handle himself fine. It´s about build and all round athleticism. He just hasn´t got enough in his locker to dominate a big centre forward, so he has to resort to dark arts stuff that our players will always be penalised for. Our players have to be so disciplined as the refs will look for any excuse to send them off.
We saw it with Fellaini when he came here. Those little half fouls he got away with playing for Everton, he was pulled up for time and time again for us. If you are the kind of player who is always playing on the limit, you just won´t get away with it at our club.
Against Villa. Thought he looked very good as well.Agree with that.
Just stick him in CM if we're not going to sell him. He has a top footballing brain, can receive and pass a ball as well as anyone.
Who did he play there against this season? I thought he was excellent, up there as the best CM performance this season. So obviously we've never tried it again.
His physical limitations will be an issue in CM, but they'll be an issue wherever he is on the pitch.
That injury was supposed to a minor injury lasting just a week but somehow lasted more than a month(?) and then he needs few more matches to get match sharpness back. Oh and a red card which means he will be out for another 3 games. It was Lisandro’s first game back after being out for a while with an injury. The manbun pull aside, his performance is what you’d expect from a player who’s been out for a while.
Preach. He needs a Shaw 2025/26 season in term of fitness to even be considered given a new contract in my opinion. He's a fantastic player for the most part when he's fit and undoubtedly a good CB but he's just too unreliable to count on.That injury was supposed to a minor injury lasting just a week but somehow lasted more than a month(?) and then he needs few more matches to get match sharpness back. Oh and a red card which means he will be out for another 3 games.
And then we wonder why we suck. We really should cut our losses. This is what, his 4th season here? He missed huge chunks of games due to injury every season.
Sure he can pick a pass but I rather have someone who is available and reliable every game. If we give him a new contract I'll lose every last bit of the already little faith I have in our senior management.
I would imagine its more the club making a point truth be told. Appealing was the right thing to do, because it makes the decision look even more of joke now.Never expected anything to come of this.
Has there even been successful appeals after the introduction of VAR? It made a lot more sense to appeal an onfield decision that couldn't be reviewed in real time.
If we manage to get de Ligt back to full fitness it will be no problem to part ways with Lisandro. De Ligt, Maguire, Heaven and Yoro are quite good, and we also have Mazraoui as an option there as seen recentlyI think we'll be looking to sell him this summer.
Andy Mitten (club mouthpiece) from TOTD has been repeating the last couple of weeks how the club wants to see money on the pitch and his availability is a big problem. I think it's to get the fans ready if we do sell him.
As good as MdL is, his injury record does not demonstrate he’s a player to be relied upon.If we manage to get de Ligt back to full fitness it will be no problem to part ways with Lisandro. De Ligt, Maguire, Heaven and Yoro are quite good, and we also have Mazraoui as an option there as seen recently
