Hate to say it but they're a hell of a team. Breaks my heart but I think they'll break the 49-game unbeaten run, win their first title in forever, invincible season and eclipse the 100-point record. P A I N F U L.

Let's say you beat us at Anfield and we win all our other PL games. That'll give us 109 points. I'd be okay with that. And you don't think you'll keep hearing about that?

Liverpool will lose either to Spurs or United.

We currently only have 13 senior outfield players fit and 7 players injured.

it's incredible how well Liverpool have done in the opening 20 games, but something will give in the second half of the season.

Good points. I suppose what ThatsGreat is getting at is we don't have players of Henry's calibre, etc. But your list is good to point out we probably have a better keeper than Arsenal did. Probably one of the best CB who isn't ageing yet to play in the PL and Salah who is holding a better PL top scoring season than Henry could ever manage in 8 years. The others could be debated.

Also top players are such if top European clubs want them. Real Madrid, arguably the most successful over the last five years, want both Mane and/or Salah but both will cost half a billion or just under. Now that's what I call 'functional'.
Youve got a squad full of top players. Maybe not to the level of pomp henry who scored and assisted like a machine but thats just one player.

Really hope someone beats then. Preferably us. If they went the season unbeaten we would never stop hearing about it.
We’ll hear about it regardless because Liverpool fans never shut up about anything. Don’t give a feck at this point tbh, just need other teams to pull their head out of their ass and challenge them. Will take 3-4 years I think.

Hope some fecker challenges them as we are going to hear about them winning the League this year for the next 30 years bar a severe implosion. The Liverpool fans I know have been saying for years every season, they are going to win the League.

Have you actually watched Spurs and United recently..?
I've had the pleasure of watching both recently! Mourinho will be determined to stop this Liverpool team one way or the other, a bit like the Demba Ba game at Anfield 5 years ago, I expect to see Spurs time wasting from the 1st minute etc and it would be typical of this seasons United team to somehow win away at City and Liverpool despite not being able to beat Arsenal or Watford!

Both teams are awful, they can wish to win all they want, doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. United are limp and clueless and Spurs are just rubbish. It’s a matter of not whether Liverpool will win, but by how many goals. I just hope Utd can keep it within 2 tbh. You don’t need to pretend that these games will be difficult, you know.

Tottenham might get a result at NWHL. I don't foresee united doing anything - The Anfield factor on top of the quality gap is just way too big.

It's a tired argument, but I honestly blame this 'lack' of world class players on the Messi and Ronaldo effect. Those two players have been so good over the past decade and a bit, that any top forward player now is automatically compared to them (and lower).

Without those two, I think the current Liverpool crop of forwards would be getting higher praise, together with players who have missed out in the past (e.g. Aguero and Suarez).
That, plus the usual nostalgia "things were better in my day/youth"

I mean, VVD, Mane and Salah finished 2nd, 4th and 5th in both BdO and FIFA WPOTY

All 3 of them are comparatively what Henry was in his pomp at arsenal when you get right down to it. Even if you think Henry was better(and i think he was, yeah, but not by much)

I reckon Henry was a step above both. Maybe not Salah in his first season.

They're both top class players though. But maybe more comparable to players like Rooney - world class, one of the best in the league and the world, but maybe not quite the best around.

And Firmino is probably too erratic to really stand up to that comparison. Hard player to place really.

The quality gap is irrelevant in this fixture. Form always goes out of the window. Liverpool were always capable of beating us under Fergie when they were crap and we still get results now against Liverpool now the tables have turned. It's a derby (not a true one but the big one nonetheless)

Liverpool rightly favourites but anything can happen on the day.

I don't think the anfield factor goes out the window though.

We never win at Anfield. It’s unlikely we’ll beat you. You also demolished us last year at Anfield as well.

Anfield factor is a myth. You've not won the title for 30 years. Where has the Anfield factor been? Have you all been silent? The truth is you don't lose many games home or away anymore because you've got a good side and a good manager.

Wolves were unlucky the other day at Anfield. City missed a penalty to draw last season. We've had a few draws there over last few years. It's always a tough ground to go to but the anfield factor is pure myth. I actually think it plays more of a part in Europe.

That's my point, Henry was never the best in the world either. Main difference between Henry and the other two is Henry was phenomenal over a span of seasons. Salah's best season is easily as good as Henry's, but his second and third best seasons aren't on the same level. Mane was on that level or very close to it in 2019 as well, but same story. Of course, Henry played his career, Mane and Salah have just entered their primes. The outlook might be different in a few years

We haven't lost at Anfield in the league for 32 months. I haven't said anything about it being a 30 year thing, but under Klopp Anfield has been a bastion. We're clearly better at home than away and have been for a very long time. Not a myth at all.

Nah they won't. If VVD, Mane, Firminho, Henderson, Fabinho, TAA, Robertson, Alisson and Salah all get injured they'd be lucky to scrape Top 4.

Also if Klopp got impaled by a big spike.

I think he was at one point. Bit unlucky to lose the Balon D'or to Shevchenko and Ronaldinho. And he was the best ever in the premier league.

The classic "if you take away all their best players, they're not really a top team" argument.

Most teams are better at home than away. Imagine my shock you're the same.

We've got literally the best home record in the world.

Started before we became the best team in the world too.

But sure, united can get a result because our home record is a myth that hasn't helped us win the league for 30 years. Great chat, buddy.

I'll be shocked if Liverpool don't win both games. All key players are fit and in form. Points will be dropped however once the league title is officially won in March and Klopp main focus becomes the CL.

While i wouldn't put money on us beating Liverpool at Anfield later this month. We actually have a good record there the last 5 years, only lost one of the last 5 league games winning two of them. Liverpool have only beaten us once in the league in nearly 6 years.

Absolute nonsense. If you beat us it will be nothing to do with the 'Anfield factor' but more so because you're simply better than us. You haven't lost many away games in England either have you? Most of your away defeats have come in Europe in 2019.

Anfield factor is pure myth. Your fans never seem to be that loud in PL games either. They seem to ramp it up on European nights.

The current Liverpool team is vastly superior to the so called 'Invincible's'. The Invincible's were a very solid decent team but the whole Invincible's thing only happened because Man Utd were in transition at the time, and Arsenal had no other major competition in the league. But the so called Invincibles were very beatable, had many weaknesses despite being a collection of outstanding footballers.
The current Liverpool team has that German mental toughness and resolve of the great Bayern Munich teams would have had. No weaknesses. Practically unbeatable when on song. Unbelievably consistent.
The Invincible's were perhaps comparable to Chelsea under Sarri or Villas-Boas, tons of superstars but very beatable when facing up against the very best opponents, and just so happened that the league didn't have opponents of real quality competing that year.

Tell Mr Anfield factor this. Hahahaha

If they beat us in a few weeks time, which I imagine they may, it will be because of the teams.

When? He wasn't unlucky to lose to Ronaldinho, he just wasn't as good as Dinho, period. And before Dinho he wasn't as good as Zidane or Rivaldo

And if we're going down that route then Salah was unlucky to have his monster season coming in a world cup year and getting injured just before the world cup, too, or he realistically could have won the balon d'or too. Against Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, no less

Wolves away after playing Everton, Spurs and United in a row might be a tricky one for them.

I don't even think Arsenal were top at Christmas that year. So it was more competitive than it is now for Liverpool
