A fantastic learning experience for our plucky youngsters. Some of them may never start at Anfield again and Klopp doing the noble thing and magnanimously participating has fulfilled a lifelong dream for some of these.

Had we simply pulled out, the media would have been right to batter us for cowardice and entitlement. Never pull out is the life lesson here.

Also, we had about 5-6 kids who would have started tonight if not for injuries. And people say we are fortunate with injuries.

Now we won't have to bother with the least of trophies any more for the season and villa fans get to tell their kids years from now about that time they beat Liverpool 5-0 at Anfield when Liverpool was the best team in the world. All in all, a terrific night for the beautiful game.
Should’ve pulled out.

I think you need to change your life lesson!

Don’t know if you’re on a wind up or not, but if those injuries are the worst you’ve got, it’s been pretty fortunate so far.

He's constantly on the WUM and a terrible poster. He talks twice about it being at Anfield, even though it wasn't. The injury part is funny too.

They could have had a 3-4 players stay in England to play last night and fly out today. They don't really need the entire squad available for the first game today.
That's what I thought a 4/5 fringe players who probably won't get a game in Qatar could have played last night and flown out straight after the game. It's not like they fly Ryanair, they would be well rested by the time they need to be.
Im actually really disappointed with the clubs stance towards a domestic cup we stood a chance of doing well in, it would be nice to win the Club World Cup now we've prioritised it but given the choice I'd rather have the League cup.
