With the money they spent on the Dome (you know, the big white thing that looks like a zit on the side of England from space) they could of brought 14 brand new staffed hospitals in London - And they wonder why the NHS isn't up to scratch

London wont get that bid, they'll probably laugh when the application comes through

So does Madrid, Seville (yeah right, wasn't long since Spain had it, what do they think they are, Yanks?), Paris, and a load of others.

The Spaniards will have to settle for one city tho. Leipzig, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart want it here ...

Pretty pointless discussing this as New York´s gonna get it because of the 9-11 factor. Bit ridiculous the Yanks get the Olympics every couple of years, isnt it?

Are you sure they'd actually want an event so big BECAUSE of 9/11? It would be a terrorist's dream.

Estimated cost is £3 BILLION to stage the Olympics in London. And that's an estimate so it's likely to end up at £4 billion. The Commonwealth Games in Manchester was good for the city but its obviously on a much smaller scale. We've got some new facilities (rather nice aquatic centre as well as the new Maine Road), it didn't cost a packet and everyone had a good time. The only real infrastructure cost was laying on extra buses though! God knows what they'll have to do in London - new stadium, new tube lines probably have to widen the M25 to 10 lanes.... and it'll probably cost a fortune just to bid and lose to NY. I say no-bid.
