That's how City managed to get the Monga deal done for a decent fee and since then they managed to sell Fatawu to Ipswich. This meant Leicester no longer needed the money for Page so were playing hardball on the fee, we deemed the fee too much and walked away.
United have walked away from several deals this summer due to the transfer fees being excessive, which is a massive statement to the market that we do have a limit and are prepared to walk away and move onto other targets. Something which was not the case before!

Think it was explained that Page is on a pro contract whilst Monga wasn’t so he’d always be valued higher.I think thats part of why they didnt want to sell him for the same or less. They've already sold their youth, they want to keep some unless the club goes above and beyond. It was just bad timing on our part to seemingly only look at doing the deal after Monga had already gone.
