Lucien Agoume

I'd rather see us spend 25m on Martinez and get a good keeper for the next 3 seasons (maybe more).

I'm tired of maybe midfielders and patched up jobs. Going big on a Baleba next season is fine by me

From looking at the stats, he looks like a similar profile to Casemiro but maybe a bit better at ball carrying. If it's true that he isn't the most mobile, I'd rather avoid and target a player who can do that to a good standard, and ideally a player who also scores well on defensive and passing metrics.

Baleba's the gold standard for that, but I don't think we can afford to neglect those needs entirely on the basis we might go back in for him next summer. We need those qualities in the team now.

Thing is so called Regista role what Bruno plays can be with Half Back or Deep Lying Playmaker - it doesn't have to be pure destroyer like Casemiro/Ugarte or Baleba would have been. A DM in Carrick or Busquets mould would also work. Just their position and game awareness has be absolute elite level.

I don't know if he would fit either roles that well, yet.

He was my choice for Case replacement - is raw but has the broad skillet, decent on the ball, good passer, a languid but deceptively fast dribbling style but I think his main strength is reading the game defensively - he's a real pain in the arse for teams to get around or run past and picks up a lot of interceptions and turnovers or at least slows stuff down.

Funnily enough, I think we were tracking him at Sochaux. Wouldn't be surpised if we knew about him when we got Kambwala. Seems like a reasonable price, hope it's someone we're looking at.
We did and we were linked with him prior to his move to Inter.

I have been keeping tabs on this guy for at least an hour and I think we should go all in.

I'm not convinced. Someone posted his running stats and he was pretty slow. We need a player with high mobility.
As he’s been recorded as running at 36.24km/h, I’d suggest you correct the post you viewed,

Don't really want to be risking more potentially sub-standard players. It's only last year we signed Ugarte and now he's considered to be crap. Our recruitment is just shocking bad.

Who do you consider to not be a risk?

Trust our new football people. So far they are excellent. Dorgu, Mbeumo, Cunha and hopefully Sesko are all hit!

Taken from here. So one of you is wrong. Got a source?

Registered a lower top speed last season than Casemiro somehow. His acceleration is an even bigger issue. Reminds me of when everyone wanted William Carvalho for a while.

Mukau from Lille looks like an interesting Baleba-lite profile.

6'1, left-footed, boundless energy, ball-carrier, strangely versatile (played as a 6, 8, 10 and even as a winger last season, but clearly his future is in midfield). West Ham, Frankfurt and Brighton all linked in recent weeks. £20m fee.

We don't really do many deals like this though - and realistically with how important a midfielder is this season we probably shouldn't. Unless we split the risk by doing two mid-priced players (Mukau, M.Kone, Djaoui Cisse, M.Fernandes, Nmecha etc)

The fact he wasn't even referenced in Dealsheet says to me there's no legs to this one, all is coming from only one Seville source which is very telling.

Seems a good player from what ive seen.

Improved really well last year. Isnt that mobile type player aka Baleba though.
Isn't that mobile as in Casemiro immobile? If he is not mobile, does he have good positioning and a passing range?

So only 1 outlet in Spain no one had ever heard of before is reporting it?

Watched him for a season at Stade Brestois when I was a season ticket holder over there. He was quite young then and on loan from Inter. He established himself quick quickly in the team then and always struck me as a calming presence on the ball, and was neat & tidy while doing the defensive stuff. He didn't really contribute anything directly to attack though.

Don't recall him looking slow either, but I don't recs specifically.

Has anyone ACTUALLY watched him and can confirm he’s slow instead of going off 1 guys opinion who probably thinks Mbappe is slow.

He is definitely not slow. But he isnt a All action athletic midfielder either like we seemingly want.

What's the difference between forward passes and progressive passes?

Also without knowing anything about him or how Sevilla plays these days he doesn't seem to have a high passing volume or completion rate. I thought we would be interested in someone who's a bit more involved.
Progressive is a subset of forward passes. It's forward passed over 15 metres or so. Can't remember.

So far there is zero evidence they are excellent. De Ligt, Zirkzee, Dorgu all have question marks on them (though definitely better than some previous windows) and Ugarte is seen as terrible. Mbuemo, Cunha and Sesko have played 1 game!
