Lucien Agoume

For that price it seems worth a punt. We'll need more than just Baleba next summer anyway as Casemiro will be off, so this could just be Casemiro's replacement one year ahead of schedule.
Yeah I wish the club were thinking like that too

I still want Baleba next year, if this helps with European football and funds left for a GK then go for it.

Reality is Casemiro leaves next year, Ugarte will be not good enough.

We need probably 3 more midfielders buying and Agoume can be one of them

Peak sprint velocity 99th percentile - reflects the peak speed of a player and his ability to reach it multiple times

The midfield needs a complete rebuild like we did with attack this summer. If that’s the plan then maybe we are better off saving the money for two blockbuster CM signings next summer than getting a stop gap.

Is that really a fair comparison? This could be purely down to the league or how he's asked to play.

I know nothing about him but judging from this video he looks pretty good. Big, strong and seems to have a decent first touch.

looks nothing short of decent here, that's all but then again its against RM

that stats comparison making him look world class, but in videos he looks okay. I personally would want a player like this but more pacey for the pl

It’s a strange one because looking at his match compilations he never seems to actually be running so it’s impossible to know if he’s slow or not! He looks a lovely passer. Baleba’s ball carrying has so much potential though in this system and he lacks that but we’ll need to sign more than one CM over the next few seasons.

Have never seen him play. But the pace and acceleration stats look very worrying.

We need someone who can deal with the pace and athleticism of the PL. Amorim keeps referring to a ‘mobile’ midfielder.

How does he compare to Hayden Hackney? Who seems to also be available on the cheap.

Speed isnt and never will be a requirement for central midfield
Thank you. I don't know if it's a Fifa thing but the talk about speed for absolutely every positions in this forum is ridiculous. As a midfielder being fast is a bonus nothing else.

Who says that he can't

This guy reminds me of William Carvalho in style

Yeah I'm trying to think of who he reminds me of but that's not a bad shout. He's a bit languid and looks nothing like Baleba in terms of style or physical characteristics. I have to worry how his game holds up in a quicker and more physical league, or does he have another gear or two to go up?

The way he runs reminds me of Mainoo, which isn't particularly quick.

He strikes me as slow and ponderous and that’s in the Spanish league!

His name pops up a lot by analysts and in discussion on social media. Definitely one for the hype train.

Based on having looked at one all touch compilation, he does seem be on cruising mode all the time with composure on the ball but also has a very comfortable and long stride i.e can move with the ball and can tackle/intercept with his size.

For me get in Camara compared to this guy, camara looks more agile and has more mobility and pace. Even if he is going to cost more potentially, don't skimp and regret later

Judging by the comparison on page one, with the graph showing best progressive passers and destroyers, he isn't as strong defensively as Agoume. He looks a different profile again, so it depends what we want. Neither look like they are in the same bracket as Baleba though, unfortunately. He actually looks a bit like Kone in some aspects, so it also depends on how we see him progressing.

Saw he was Cameroon born. Nevermind!
I deleted as I thought you were on about Camara after the couple posts before

But yeah, he's played for France at youth level and doesn't look like switching

The big improvements over Ugarte will be in his passing particularly distribution to wing backs or dinks over the top. He is also a better ball carrier and better in the air.

I see significant improvement over Casemiro and Ugarte. Probably not as good as Baleba but if we get him for 30m or so, that should not detract from a Baleba signing next summer.

I will say the same thing about him as I said about Sesko : Diego Leon, Chido Obi, Ayden Heaven, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Patrik Dorgu

At the moment - I actually trust our recruitments

I've only really seen him on Youtube highlights, and in all honesty, i'm not even overly impressed by them!

We have left it too late, and I just hope that we aren't going to spunk our funds away on a panic buy.

In our system it is

Athleticism more say than speed. Being able to get up and down for 90 minutes and not being physically dominated.
speed is definitely a requirement for a CM in the modern game ESPECIALLY when you have only 2 in there defensively for large periods of the game

not sure but athleticism and speed are one in the same for me

No more tractors please.
You can cope without pace in the Prem but it's generally alot harder to do so.
We are crying out for some pace and power in CM.
