Lucien Agoume

I swear people were mentioning his name in the center midfield target thread, and when we've finally been linked with him - people say he's not it
That's probably explained by the usual thing - that it's completely different posters who rate him / don't rate him. Thousands of posters holding some different opinions on players isn't very surprising, surely?

Haven’t seen him play but if he looks slow in La Liga, he will be a disaster in the PL - especially in our midfield where we desperately need mobility to compliment Bruno/Mainoo.

So why is Anka really rating him then?

Regardless that I think I actually rate him higher than Anka (who basically just gives some lip service in that article - look at this shoulder to shoulder, look at this long pass, he can tackle and carry the ball), why would you trust a journo over a random football fan? I like Anka but he’s not exactly luckyscout.

Think you must be in the minority on that, the lack of any smoke from UK sources this may have no legs

Anka is basically a caftard with a Wyscout login. Wouldn't put much stock in his player evaluation.

Ouch, just when I was trying to find a positive. Perhaps if Mitten likes him it might make more waves

On paper he looks very impressive to be fair

For 26M that seems worth a punt - provided he has the physicals for this league.

Maybe - I feel like Vivell will know him as I’m certain there was a Sochaux/RB link back in the day. I still think we’re going to go in last minute for Fernandes given the Amorim relationship but would be happy with either.

Never heard of this guy.

By tomorrow I will have a fully informed opinion of him, and no one will change my mind.

Can anyone share a YouTube video of him - no longer than 2 mins please.

Ask and you shall recieve

I'll save you some time, as I just watched one. He makes absurdly accurate long passes, splittinf open defenses and dances past players like Pogba. Might be slow, but he doesn't really seem to ever need to run? Good positioning maybe?

You mean a TikTok?
Breath mint?
I try.

Thanks. Crap music. Tick.

Looks like how I imagine a young Welbeck would play in midfield.

Going from baleba highlights to this… why did they get our hopes up like that  . Damn you Ineos

Hope this one happens. People say he’s slow but even if he ends up being a more mobile Casemiro that’s better on the ball that’s a very good player for that fee. I don’t think you need some ultra quick ball chaser. Just need high energy levels and good physical attributes from someone that doesn’t treat the ball like a bomb.

Amazing how much that can cover for speed. He looks to have excellent defensive instincts.

Everyone is saying right now that pace isn’t an issue until there’s a game. Then we will see countless posts saying “he has no legs”.

Who used to provide the athleticism for Carrick?
Giggs.

I would argue that the league wasn’t as athletic back then. You didn’t need speed as a CB or CM, but now it’s vital to have those especially for top teams.

So who fits the bill for that before window shuts or do you think we should risk waiting it out for Baleba?

Reason why this is said about Casemiro especially isn't that Casemiro is actually slow for a DM. It's because of his relatively weak positional sense and situational awareness mainly because he wants to be someone who contributes with goals and assists as well . I'll use Yoro (I know not a DM) as an example of how to defend without always being on your behind and without always having to chase play because he focuses on where the danger is going to be before it happens where as Casemiro tend to always need to catch up hence needing to be a lot more mobile than he is to make it work.
A guy who sits at the base of midfield, is fairly strong with decent passing ability and even the level of Casemiro mobility would be fine if he had the situational awareness and positional sense.
Yes recovery pace is a good weapon to have but Bosquet, Carrick and many others didn't have it but they were smart positioning.

Yeah maybe this guy is about smart positioning, however yet to see anyone from UK mention him at all
