James is a Welsh International and still very young. He isn't being sold for £9-12m. That's madness.

We'll sell him for a profit minimum.
Don't think we will make much of a profit. We signed him when it was thought he could be pretty special. I would say he now seems like he'll be a below average PL winger.

James is one of the few players there who actually would go for a profit + as well as have multiple teams interested. £15-20m easily

We could easily sell Lingard after his loan spell at West Ham, if we really wanted to.
They'd be half a dozen takers in the Premier League alone.
Dan James too, there would be takers, no doubt.
Who to? How many teams have shown any interest at all?

I think we will see the end of James / Lingard towards the end of the Transfer Window, I have a feeling the reason why we are still hanging onto them is due to the fitness level of our first team players particularly those that have only just returned back to training.

James and Lingard could easily fetch £20m each, James is very capable of making the same impact as what Lingard did at West Ham.

£20mil for periera
£30mil for lingaard

Are you ed woodward? Try £5mil for periera to get rid of him as he would struggle in a top 10 championship team.

£15mil for lingaard. Fair price and gets him out of the door.
Finally someone who us vaguely realistic

I can only assume most premier league clubs are skint. There's surely loads of clubs who would take him for a reasonable fee given the last few months he had at West Ham... It would be absurd if West Ham didn't want to sign him for example, they just may not have the funds.

Chris Gunter is the record cap holder for Wales, kinda puts into perspective what standard you need to be to get a Welsh cap.

I agree though, 15-20 million for me, we won't get any more though.

A injury prone Danny Ings just went for 25mil with 1 year left on his deal. Jesse in a similar position contract and age wise. If it wasn't for his high wages would be looking closer to 30mil but it'll be less.

Chelsea would probably get a £5 million loan fee for Andreas.

Comprehension is clearly not your strong point, if you managed to respond this way to my post.
Not to be rude, but try reading it again, and if you still dont understand the point, then dont worry about it.

I don't think your wrong in what you have said. I do think the problem we have is we hold onto mediocre players for far too long. Other clubs seem to be far better at getting these type of players of their books- we don't!
Yes, i agree with this too. I think it should be two-three seasons that we would know, esp for anybody thats 25+ after that period.
Everybody is saying 10m or so, for the players, but again, thats what we as fans would want to receive just to see the back of them.

The club as a business, will look at the contracts, the ability of the player and then importantly the market itself, where you see lesser or equal players going for higher amounts.

The prices we want, on the face of it look ridiculous to us, as United fans who get to see the player a lot.
However taking into consideration the market, 20m for Pereira makes sense especially as hes only 25.
Lingard is 28, but his price is dependent on how many years of his contract he has left. He showed the last six months what he has to offer so you would think 30m for him would be a great purchase for one of the clubs like west ham, everton, villa, leicester, etc. Teams who will not have opposition sitting back thus you can take advantage of Lingards strengths.
Asking for 5m for a Dalot loan, and looking to put in a guarantee to buy after, again, is reasonable.

United have often been accused, especially by their own fans, of under selling players. And its true. Part of the reason is because of wages , and another is because we just are bad at planning. I dont know if theres any other reasons cos you see City, Liverpool and Chelsea sell unknowns for huge prices , and again, is that due to low wages?

I think a midfielder like Matic would be huge for us, somebody who isnt a destroyer but is smart in terms of positioning and playing out the back and passing range to get us on the front foot. Honestly think that is more important than RB. Trippier for 10-15 would be great but I dont think would be a game changer. A DM however could be for us.

£20m for Pereira and £30m for Lingard

The only trip you should be worrying about is the one you're on.

I’d take £5m for Perreira at this point

everyone’s skint and he isn’t very good, best thing for everyone if we let him go for cheap so he can kick start his career

While I agree, it seems like other clubs get more for their shite
Thing is, other clubs get more value because they sell at the right time. Every club knows how good a player can be most of the time. We should have sold Pereira a long time ago, instead we kept him in plans. Now everyone knows that he is shite.

Tammy Abraham example is quite telling. He had a great season under Lampard, then had limited opportunities after Werner signed. Now they are selling him before he has another shite season for 40m!

20 for Pereira is too high, but if Lingard is Maddison's replacement and he goes for 60 I could see 30 near the end of the window as a bit of panic sets in. He's 28 and has 29 England caps and only Henderson in the midfielders picked ahead of him would go for under 50 and the 26 year old Prowse who was a final cut with him would go for near 40 I think.

The Prem tax is high right now and Lingard is proven, in form and enough people seem to rate him. Personally, I wouldn't want to pay 30M for a 28 year old #10 who's such a poor passer in the final 3rd, but if he gets 40 goals over the next 3 seasons the main attacking midfielder from that spot and links play, with his decent mobility and defensive work relative to that spot on the pitch it's not really out of the market. There's definitely better value around Europe, but if you're a manager who gets fired if you finish 14th and keeps their job if you finish 8th like Moyes or Rodgers (not sure he'd get fired off one bad year but he'd be up against it the next season and that's assuming things don't sour during a brutal year like that)...

An interest in Lingard..?
How about, West Ham, Arsenal, Leicester, Spurs, Everton, Villa....
That loan spell at West Ham really put Lingard in the shop window, so if Lingard was available at a sensible price, those clubs would surely go for him, not at £30m, but definitely circa £20m.

Youre not very clever if your takeaway from my post is that, these are the prices I think we should be selling them at.

As I said, comprehension is clearly not your strong suit, but im glad youre letting all know with your responses and exposing yourself by doubling down :)

I’d be fine with £20m for Lingard. Would be for the best for both parties if he left the club this summer.

For him to get into any sort of form he needs to be continuously starting games which he shouldn’t be getting at United.

Needs to come off the payroll aswell since his performances at United doesn’t justify his wages. Would be good for United to put the money on this new significant signing Luckhurst is on about.

I don't disagree with 20m and most of what you said, but 30m is ridiculous. Leicester aren't a poorly run club, so them paying 30 because they fecked up at the end of the window is unrealistic.

People are perfectly capable of reading your rant on why you think they're worth those prices. What's bothering you so much you have to ad hominem multiple members that read your post and quoted your prices? Edited:

These are realistic prices, too few posts like this in this thread.
James would go for at least the same as Jesse. James could be a weapon for most teams in the bottom half.

We should get £50 million for James, Lingard and Perriera.

And that right there is why your comprehension is an issue on my post. I am not saying they are worth those prices. I am saying why I think it makes sense as to why United would push for those prices.

Two completely different things. So either your comprehension is lacking, given the first two lines of my opening comment (put there clearly to show that is not what I value them as) and youre responding to something which your mind insists is there or, now that ive explained it to you, youre doubling down and will continue your line of thought.

Can't see United moving many on before window ends.

Maybe 1 or 2 at best but hardly big money.

Most likely loan and option to buy probably.

Another failure of a summer, in getting rid of the old stock.

The fact no one has come sniffing for Lingard tells me we should be grateful to get £15-20 million for him. I believe he's in the last year of his contract too, so interested clubs might just be willing to sit and wait.

Pereira, I'd be surprised if we got more than £10 million, never mind £15 million, if we even manage to sell him at all. He's not proven anything, anywhere, so he's a gamble for anyone that wants to take him on. Imagine his wages could be a stumbling block for some clubs too.

James I'm not sure we're looking to sell just yet. Decent enough cover option and still relatively young. Unless he manages a breakout season I imagine we'll look to recoup the £15 million we spent on him, and maybe make a small profit.

We should have sold Tuanzebe to Villa 2 summers ago, James to Leeds last summer & Williams to Southampton last summer. All 3 have dropped in value now. We need to be more ruthless in offloading players who aren’t good enough, academy or not. Liverpool got £20m+ each for crap like Brewster, Solanke & Ibe. If they were at United they’d leave for free years later when their contacts expired.

I don't think James's value has dropped, he just came off the back of a fairly solid Euros. We'd probably fetch a pretty respectable fee for James, he's young, on a modest wage compared to our other players, a full International and his skillset looks perfect for a middle-lower half team looking to sit back and play on the counter. Playing for United highlights his weaknesses, a bit like Lingard, but at another club I think he'd do well.

All were sold at ages 20-21 the same age Williams is right now, he might not ever make it as a starter but squad depth he's fine to have around, you're gonna need to promote someone up or buy in a replacement.

Why would you sell a 21 year old Axel, he looked the business, he got injured an fell down the pecking order due to lack of game time/ readiness. We also get got 5mil for loaning him out this year, so subtract that from any potential value in flogging him two years ago for 20m or whatever.

We should have sold James less than a year after buying him? why? he's not the greatest but he'll do until Diallo and/or Pellestri is up to speed at which point, I imagine we can sell him just fine for a similar amount.

Just because he had a decent half season does NOT make him worth thirty million. If we could get 20 for him and get him off payroll that'd be good business imo.

It wasn't just decent - he was amazing for West Ham. And yes it makes him worth more than 30m if we were not Utd and not trying to get rid of him.

Unfortunately for us I think that potential suitors have longer memories and will take into account the 18 goals and 10 assists in 133 appearances before he joined West Ham.
