Luis Enrique | PSG Manager

He's at the perfect club for him and doing a decent job. I'd say this will be his last major club.

I do wonder if he came to the PL, how many seasons a team of his would be able to play with that pressing intensity before injuries and fatigue set in.

As Oliver Kahn moaned before yesterday game. PSG can rest their star players for domestic games, as the level of competition in their domestic league is quite poor. Therefore ensure their players are at their best and well rested for CL games.

My presumption would be in PL, he'd have his team start at a blistering rate, go a goal up or two and then take foot off the pedal and coast through rest of the game.

If Utd want to have any chance of landing Enrique in the best few seasons, they need to put together a squad that he thinks he can coach and win with.

Kind of funny. I don't know what Kahn has said but Bayern are 16 points in front after 32 matches, meaning they've already won the league, while PSG is only 6 points ahead after 31 matches. If one of those teams can/could rest star players, it is Bayern.

Considering how easy they far ahead of Liverpool they seemed in their match up (for all their flaws this season 4th place), I don't see why they shouldn't be able to rotate in the EPL. They've got amazing depth.

I think on the contrary that's very unlikely.

Tell me where he would go then? Won't go back to Spain. Why would he go to the Premier League and all that nonsense. He'll be at PSG for a long time. The team is very much in his image.

I think he'll likely be in the PL at some point in his career, and I could see him managing Bayern also. Might manage Barça again.

Also think that. They are extremely young as a team and more importantly they are his team so while they are at their peak I can't see him leave which would be next 3 or 4 years.

Also, the pressure isn't that high as in Spain or EPL but he is still chasing CL every year. Just seems like a perfect situation for a manager. He is now 55, same as Guardiola so this being his last big job for the next few years isn't out of the question.

If he wins Champions League this season, he would be foolish not to try his luck in chasing third or perhaps fourth in row.

PSG is best place for him to stamp his mark as one of the all time greats and try chasing down Ancelotti's record. This team is obviously him and Campos 100% percent, he will not be able to build that again ever, anywhere else.

Could he do what Pep tried and failed and win CL/League double's in all the major leagues.

Was never realistic at Roma. He's done it in the French and Spanish leagues, easily could do it in the PL if he picks the right club and Inter or a Juventus/Milan renaissance. That just leaves Bayern.

If we exclude Italy it's possible if he gets the Bayern job and maybe the City or Arsenal job. I don't think any Italian club is quite strong enough given how Inter are aging.

Andy Mitten who seems to know him relatively well said that Enrique has expressed a strong interest in managing in the prem. I think he signs this contract but could easily leave in 2/3 seasons.

I really respect what Luis Enrique has done at PSG, but people should know that Luis Ocampos has played a huge part in why PSG is where it is today. Would he make a good duo with Wilcox? Why not.

I think he’ll stay one more year in Paris, and having him as coach next season would be a very good option for us.

Surely not. What makes you think he’d call time on it after PSG? I feel he’d like the Spain gig again given how he had to vacate that role previously.

Duncan Castles had him on his podcast a few years ago and Campos was quite interested in the United job. I think the club, certainly back then at least, wouldn't have gone near him because they did not want to appoint people that are too ambitious.

And with Enrique, of course he most likely wants to collect a few CLs with PSG before doing something different, but if he were to fancy the United job, would they have the equal amount of ambition? I mean, it might be so ambitious that more competent people might get the jobs of those giving him a job. Anyhow, I suggested as much a while back, that appointing Enrique would be an insurance policy against the hierarchy's lack of ambition.

I fully expect City to luck their way into getting this guy next. Would be typical.

He’s the sort of guy that will probably want to taste the premier league at some point. I’ve a feeling he’ll take over pep at city.

I don't. It wouldn't make sense for him as a challenge. Just to continue what Pep was doing? Doesn't strike me as a guy that fancies such low hanging fruit. Whereas reviving United if competent people are there to support him is a worthy challenge. I could also see him go back to Barca.

Also, surely, even though it won't be anywhere near commensurate, City will get done.

I think that’s a nice thought but taking over from Pep absolutely has challenges to it and they’ll offer him a kings ransom.

I don't know. I suspect he's driven by more things than money. And besides, I'm hoping Pep quits in a month or Maresca will take over. Just a shame it won't be Amorim as Berrada and co were planning.

4 extra years agreement for Luis Enrique with PSG @BenJacobs

Encouraging to know. Hopefully they are doing the leg work if it doesn't pan out with Carrick. He'd be an absolute dream, though of course the bigger dream is that Carrick has it within him to be stellar.

Do something at half time to change the game and save humanity you wanker.

Damnit, now they defended the UCL-title, can someone stop them from doing a 3-peat in a year, please?

I never thought that we will see another 3-peat in our lifetime, but PSG are absolute favourites for the next season too..

This guy has cemented his place as one of the best managers ever.

They have to run out of steam, surely...

Seems as if he knew it would be too easy for PSG to win if they went all in so he decided to skip any training/prep for the final for shits and giggles.

Wasn’t their best performance, but they still were the better team.

I think he will eventually do a Pep and decide to take a break in the next 2-3 seasons. We absolutely MUST be first in line when he makes his comeback. Regardless of how Carrick is performing.

He's done a great job, but it's impossible to ignore that they have a huge advantage in Europe. A league that they have such control over that fixtures are moved to give them the best chance in Europe, no competition locally so less output required and plenty of rest, and of course a bottomless pit of money.

It's still a great achievement, winning the CL isn't easy with any team, but PSG is the easiest given the above.

Congrats to him. Hope he doesn't come to the Prem...... unless it's to manage us

The odds are City are already laying the groundwork for him like they did with Pep.

Hope he manages us one day. I’d plan for it as City did for Pep but we tend to lag behind

So if Carrick is winning the PL in 3 years time, you go and sack him?
