Luis Enrique | PSG Manager

So, two CL finals in a row. Barring an absolute travesty for football, he'll win the CL twice in a row too. Could he in any way whatsoever be tempted as he's pretty much done everything possible at PSG (barring continued CL domination)? He's the standout manager globally, would he work with this United hierarchy? I mean, they at least have to sound the guy out.

I've been saying it's a pipe dream and it's completely impossible, and it very very very likely is, I just wonder if he does a CL repeat if he's taken them as far as he can and if he fancies an enormous challenge.
He’s by far & away my 1st choice to be our new manager by a country mile but yeah I think “wishful thinking” would be an understatement here so not going to get sucked into it.

He will replace Guardiola at City in 2027.

Can say that about any of their first XI as well.

Just wishful thinking.

We need to make a move if he does leave PSG in the next few years, regardless of who is in charge unless they are winning leagues. If they are just getting us European football, we cannot just let Enrique go to one of our rivals.

We made the same mistake with Klopp, I know all that Disneyland rubbish, but I am sure that when Klopp had left Dortmund, he would have joined us. Our board was giddy that LVG got us champions league football.

A team that works their socks off for 90min despite having a 2 goal cushion speaks volumes for the coach. Great tactics is only half the job, instilling a work ethic into the team as well is the sign of a great coach. Something Utd have missed for along time.

Not that there is any realistic chance he comes here, but he is as close to a guarantee in today’s game as is possible. The additional benefit of having someone like him as your manager is that by default he brings in a certain level of certainty and stability. Even if he fails in the first season, the decision makers would have confidence to stick with him and improve the team rather than looking to replace him at the first sign of trouble.
Anyway, it’s a pipe dream to get him unless he is a closet United fan and kept it as a secret.

Just throw £150 million at him and see what happens. If he says no at least we tried
No club can entice him with money. His current club will make sure of that.

He's reaching stratospheric levels with the football his team play. Going to go down as an all-time great - this could be his third treble!

Potentially 3 CLs a manager. He'd be creeping into all timer territory if he keeps going like this.

He'll end up there for sure. Easily the best in the world right now. I don't think anyone is even really close to him.

Best manager of the modern (post-Fergie) era.
I was doubtful of this after his last 2 seasons at Barca but i now realise what he wants his players to do which the players at Barcelona were refusing (the front 3's work rate dropped in the second season onwards) OR more likely, he has learnt from his experience and just became a much better manager.

Wouldn’t come here sadly. Would need a hell of a rebuild, lots of money and patience to implement his style.

Hopefully he stays well clear of City.

Tbh if you watch the players at his disposal I don't know why he would want to work with our squad.

I agree, but say we sign his type of players and they all do well. Wouldn't he consider it ?
It would take us maybe couple summer windows for it. And they'd all have to do well right away,. and maybe in right age range. I think he'd be tempted.
A lot can happen between now and couple years too. Maybe Vitinha goes to Real Madrid, and he'd not want to do a rebuild.

These oil club titles mean very little when judging a manager's abilities.

PSG have had oil money for years now. He has transformed them into what looks like a pretty unbeatable team

To think they got Joao Neves for not much more than we paid them for Ugarte. Absolute madness

That only tells me he's better than the previous guys.

Honestly, do you see our forwards being able to press like this PSG team? Don't think this level is achievable for most of our players tbh.

Why not? Mbeumo, Amad and Cunha all work hard, as does Bruno and Mount (lol). Sesko is young and can learn to press well and I would guess any other forwards we buy would also be people that would be pliable. I don't see why our forward line would not be able to do this?

It's all about coaching. Kvara, for example, has talked about how hard Enrique has made him work, it's not as though their forwards were all born to press and ours weren't

If Dortmund didn't pull off the miracle in 23/24 PSG would've had 3 consecutive finals, Incredible stuff by Enrique.

The bigger problem would be they've got much more individual quality.

Dembele, Kvara, Doue and Barcola are much better individually than Sesko, Mbuemo, Cunha and Amad.

Getting your excuses in early eh.

Nah I've been saying this for a decade.

Weird thing is, united fans have been saying the same about city. So you (not you, united fans in general) see city for what it is, but their mirror image psg somehow gets a pass. It's just strange. I want all clubs led by criminals to lose, always, and their achievements are hollow and can't be compared to the work of regular managers.
