He is a bigger prime Chicharito or Vardy. Can't dispute his numbers but not top quality.
Not really, since hes been talking shit about us and himself since his last season here. Hes the kind of guy who would slide on his knees in front of his mates iphone when he scores against his 5 year old nephew in their back garden. And then say something like 'Old Trafford do you miss me'.It's so strange how much some of you hate this guy compared to other players who left you.

I’m 90% sure it’s down to the extreme polarising opinions. I can’t stand him mainly because he was the worst starting striker I’ve seen at the club. When you then come in and see people calling him world class it’s just baffling and that likely sparks arguments. To be fair on him though, he played well yesterday. It's so strange how much some of you hate this guy compared to other players who left you.

Could you give me a few examples of him "talking shit" about Man United? I'm genuinely curious and that would shed some light on all the hate! Not really, since hes been talking shit about us and himself since his last season here. Memphis was mediocre for our ambitions and level as a football club. Anyone pointing him out as an example of players shining post United hasn't a clue. His incompetence with us didn't have anything to do with us. He was absolutely crap. Couldn't beat a defender in 30 attempts and generally seemed lost. Same case with Lingard etcwithout going into everything - how many years ago did we sell Depay?
Is it a criticism of the club, that a player we sold four years ago has a good season?

I'm on my phone all day so I cant really search but I'll try to remember to look some up if others havent by that time.Could you give me a few examples of him "talking shit" about Man United? I'm genuinely curious and that would shed some light on all the hate!
“cart horse” “no first touch” “waste of money” …….It's so strange how much some of you hate this guy compared to other players who left you.
His scoring has never been a problem except in his 2nd season with United.I am baffled by Lukaku's scoring numbers of late. What is wrong with the guy?
It's due to his terrible attitude during his last 12 months here. Turned up unfit and remained that way the entire season, could barely break into a run and spent more time pointing than actually doing anything, constantly blamed everyone else for his mistakes (and considering he was the worst performing player on the team there were a lot), talked to the media as if he was fine and the other players needed to get their shit together, and was a massive teachers pet for Mourinho. Then when we were negotiating with Inter he refused to come back and train with us. After he was sold, he got all pissy about criticism and released some of the clubs internal training stats, and has made a number of other comments bitching about the criticism he faced while playing for us (refusing to acknowledge that the criticism he faced in his second season was 100% his own fault). It's so strange how much some of you hate this guy compared to other players who left you.
Perhaps talking shit about United isn't the correct word but he said he thought about leaving United after his 2nd match after being bought from Everton. Talking about being a "grown ass man" in terms of handling critism, and yet moaned about being singled out at United for critism by the fans in a period where he was geniuenly woefull. However perhaps he is ripped upon a bit unfairly, but his clumsiness at times makes it hard not to. At least it seems his ability in that regard as improved in the last season.Could you give me a few examples of him "talking shit" about Man United? I'm genuinely curious and that would shed some light on all the hate!
City 2 pts behind United and need a win on the last dayLUKAKUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
It was relatively benign stuff. Came across as a bit of a wally but you’d have to be seriously thin skinned to take much offence.Could you give me a few examples of him "talking shit" about Man United? I'm genuinely curious and that would shed some light on all the hate!
Lukaku thought about leaving the club as soon as he joined. It was relatively benign stuff. Came across as a bit of a wally but you’d have to be seriously thin skinned to take much offence.
It is quite normal for fans to try and find reasons to dislike players that flop at one club then do well at the next one. Classic transference.
His problems at Utd certainly weren’t due to ‘bad habits’.Inter’s medics and Conte’s attitude put him into his most glorious shape ever. Will he revert to bad habits, now that such exceptional circumstances do not concur anymore?
you don’t even have to try to find reasons why Lukaku failed. Far too easy.It was relatively benign stuff. Came across as a bit of a wally but you’d have to be seriously thin skinned to take much offence.

Ah yes followed by Rom’s obligatory gesture of pointing at the player that provided him with a brilliant ballImagine Lukaku fecking up an intricate passing move for City and Guardiola pulling his non-existent hair out
Indeed. Even the "grown ass man" stuff was when he was at the club and a defence of the manager. It was relatively benign stuff. Came across as a bit of a wally but you’d have to be seriously thin skinned to take much offence.

go look through the old Lukaku threads if you want a refresh on why he’s disliked and examples of how he treated the club.
Di Maria, Depay, Lukaku have been some of the best players in their leagues and teams since they left. That being said, I doubt they'd succeed here, for various reasons.who are all these players? Who was the last player United regretted selling is a better question? Pique? Rafael? Herrera? Nani?
all very debatable. The 4 one mentioned above would have as many people saying we should have sold them as those who say we should have kept team.
it certainly wasn’t Di Maria, Lukaku, Darmian, Smalling, Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlain, Rojo, Welbwck, Hernandez, Evans, Kagawa, Depay, Miki.
should we expect every player we sell to be shit? There’s nothing wrong with players going on to play well for other clubs - but actually I see that most players who leave the club don’t do well. There’s no issue here.
Agree with this. It’s why the questions should be - do we regret selling any of these players? My answer is no.Di Maria, Depay, Lukaku have been some of the best players in their leagues and teams since they left. That being said, I doubt they'd succeed here, for various reasons.
I think we should, in the sense that this club should do better at getting their signings to work. Better scouting, better tactics that fit the players that we buy. I personally think Bruno and Pogba will shine this tournament, but we can barely get them to play together and dominate bigger teams. Di Maria is a difficult case, with the burglary. But Lukaku and Depay were clearly misused at the club. They were very poor in their last season, but it was never a created setting for them to shine. I think that's a big problem at this club, and players go on to prove how good they are elsewhere.Agree with this. It’s why the questions should be - do we regret selling any of these players? My answer is no.
it’s also absurd that some people think every player should leave United and perform worse. I wouldnt want to see any of those three players ever play for united again - but 2 of those players were sold for £50-70m - of course they should do well for their new club.
He was great in this Brazil game actually, in the last World Cup, even if he didn't score this day. That's why this stat isn't accurate imo.Croatia are very poor at the moment. Even we beat them and we're currently dog shit
He's barely scored against top opposition over 80% of his international goals are against cannon fodder.
Couldn't score vs Germany (2 games), Spain, France (3 games), Argentina, Italy (2 games) & Brazil
What stat isn't accurate? He's rated as a goalscorer? He was great in this Brazil game actually, in the last World Cup, even if he didn't score this day. That's why this stat isn't accurate imo.
You can play a very good game without scoring goals. He didn't score against Brazil but he was crucial for their win and a big reason they scored the second goal. What stat isn't accurate? He's rated as a goalscorer?
Also forgot to add England - 4 games 1 goal.
He's played against 15 good teams and you can barely count the goal's he's scored against them
That 2nd goal is more De Bruyne than LukakuYou can play a very good game without scoring goals. He didn't score against Brazil but he was crucial for their win and a big reason they scored the second goal.
You can't just say "he didn't score so he had no impact".
Yeah, that run he made throughout the field to get the ball to KDB absolutely had no role in anything. That 2nd goal is more De Bruyne than Lukaku
You're giving Lukaku way too much credit for that goal. A belter from outside the box and Lukaku had a good game based on that move?Yeah, that run he made throughout the field to get the ball to KDB absolutely had no role in anything.
If De Bruyne made that run and Lukaku scored that goal you will still be saying that was all De Bruyne. You're giving Lukaku way too much credit for that goal. A belter from outside the box and Lukaku had a good game based on that move?
Also just checked his goalscoring record against top 6 in Italy
Last 2 seasons 20 games 8 goals - 3 from pens
He's just not that good when playing against top teams
