Manchester United have beaten Manchester City to the signing of highly-rated Polish defender Łukasz Bejger.
M.E.N. Sport understands
United have agreed to sign Bejger, 16, after he had a trial in August and he could be announced among their
academy intake ahead of the 2018-19 season.
Poland Under-16 international Bejger was with Lech Poznan's academy and made his youth debut for the national team against Scotland in September. Bejger, who captained the U16s against Moldova last week, is primarily a centre-back but can also play at right-back.
In September, United added Piotr Sadowski - who was previously attached to Lech Poznan - to their European scouting network and Bejger will hope to become the first outfield Polish player to represent the United first-team.
