We should really just forget about Luke Shaw at this stage. Move one and plan for the future without him

Go out and recruit a new LB starter. Tired of keeping our LB spot waiting for that absolute crock to be fit again

Malacia is in the same bracket.

Joke of a player. Researched his stats last year, updated at the start of this season. Time for another update.

14/15: 21 games missed

15/16: 51 games missed (leg break season)

16/17: 38 games missed

17/18: 25 games missed

18/19: 8 games missed

19/20: 27 games missed

20/21: 8 games missed

21/22: 20 games missed

22/23: 8 games missed

23/24: 37 games missed.

24/25: 14 and counting. Can safely throw in dozen games probably.

257 games missed in 10 years here. Waster.

Very frustrating but as an injury prone player myself back in the day, I’m sure he wants nothing more than to play regularly. Not his fault his body has deserted him since they horror tackle all those years ago

Need to show it's not OK to spend an entire career in the physio room for United.

Time to go.

If he was so eager to play regularly then he would have done everything in the summer to get back to full fitness but instead he decided to rush himself back and go to the Euros, feck him.

So even if we exclude the leg break season we're looking at a player who's injured roughly 40% of the time. Crazy.

If he was willing, but why would he be, I’d release him now. He’s been a complete failure. We’ve missed out on plenty good left backs over the years because of the whole “when he’s fit” nonsense

When you’ve been out injured since the dawn of days and you get included in the England squad for the euros, you should also fully understand that being in a rush to be fit to play has the potential downside of having dire consequences for your next season at the club that actually pays your wages. We’re pretty much in November and no one knows when he can actually return. He made a massive gamble and it’s completely backfired

A gamble pretty much any player would make. It's not enough to have such a big dislike for the guy. I think he should leave but I don't dislike the guy.

At this rate we’d be better off terminating his contract rather than trying to find someone to buy him. He would probably get injured getting on the table for a clubs medical.

Imagine he's suddenly miraculously fit for Amorim's first game in charge!

Weird how he always gets fit for England. The sooner he is gone the better

Laugh out loud. He has missed plenty of games with England.

It's a shame he never could stay fit. Who knows what would have happened if he never broke his leg back in 2015. Who knows what would have happened if United was a bit more cautious with his playing time. Like, maybe don't start him 3 games in 8 days after returning from a 3 month layoff last year-- only to get hurt shortly thereafter.

The fat jokes just show people's ignorance. The dude just has a different build than other players---- fat people can't sprint 35KM and hour. Rooney didn't have a slender build either in his playing days.

With his contract, he probably isn't going anywhere, so all they can do is what they do every year. Count on him for a 8 game spell, then a layoff, then another 6 game spell and that's it. I mean, it would be nice if they actually managed his minutes better instead of constantly sticking him out there every freaking game after he returns from injury, instead of giving him some rest and not pushing him. Clearly he isn't capable of handling a long season and at most he should be starting once a week, and not subjecting him to 3 games in a week when he is healthy.

Plenty of NBA guys who are injury prone, get plenty of rest days, because the trainers know their bodies can't take the grind of playing every game. United never understood that Shaw needed to play fewer games when he was healthy, to help keep him from reinjuring himself.

Between his age, and the culmination of all of his injuries, I am not expecting much out of him the next few years. TRy to get him healthy, have him play a few games here and there and that's it. Not sure why people get upset when they find out Shaw gets hurt, or has a setback. It shouldn't be a surprise at this point. There will be more injuries, more setbacks, but hopefully he can play from time to time, and it doesn't end up like Phil Jones where he's hurt for the final 2+ years of his contract and we never see him again.

Injuries happen-- so many guys in the NBA, NFL, MLB, (insert other sports leagues,) have retired early because chronic injuries ruined their careers. Shaw will likely retire once his contract is up in 2027.

Maybe, maybe not. Doesn’t really change the main point.

It’s a gamble where if you fail, you end up looking like an absolute cnut.

I felt bad for him all the way up until the summer when he turned up at the Euros unfit and tried to play and ultimately set himself back what looks like half a season at minimum. Selfish.

Time to get rid now, Jan transfer window if possible, otherwise summer.

Yes. Be nice if we could offload him for about £100million. But unfortunately Chelsea aren’t quite that daft. I would let him go for free and give his salary to someone who gives a damn.
I meant for the Chelsea game on Sunday, but even that hope has gone with his latest setback.

Put any player in his position who has been injured most of the season with his injury record, whether its Bruno, Messi, Djemba Djemba and they would all do the same. An opportunity to win a first international trophy for your country in decades. These guys aren't robots. Also lets be real, whether he played or not he likely would have gotten injured in pre-season per his record. He just needs to be moved on but I've got no hate or dislike for him as a person.

I don’t see how it changes anything. He gambled and failed miserably, the end result is that he looks like a proper cnut. Any player doing the same and returning injured would fit the same description.

I fail to see why that shouldn’t have consequences

We seriously need to forget about Luke, he’s nearly 30, his body is broken, right now we should look to loan Chillwell for 6 months as he’s perfect as LWB and Buy back Alberto Fernandez in winter or summer.
