Shown glimpses of what we've been missing. Amorim needs quality players available.

We should do everything possible to make sure he's fit to start the final at left wing back.

People can say what they want about Shaw - but there is a thought about his crosses. With most of our other players they just hope for the best - Shaw actually tries to find United-players

Wrap him up in cotton wool - it's good that De Ligt is back to provide more options in centre back, but Dalot being injured still puts a limiter on how much we can rotate our options in defence. Hopefully Heaven comes back soon too, so Shaw can focus on getting bit more fitness.

Short cameo but still created 2-3 good chances. Shame we can't even get excited about his performances anymore as you can't count on him being available.

He came on when the game was over.

People are insane to suggest he should start a game, nevermind an European final.
Didn't you see him at wingback in the later part of the Bournemouth game?
Today he could have had two assists easily. That kind of final third quality is in short supply in this side.

Again, later part of the game and an extra man.

In equal conditions, playing Shaw is an absolute net negative.

Try telling that to Gareth Southgate

I said it, he didn't listen.

Definitely think he'll be used cautiously over the next few weeks with an eye to start him at LCB in the final. It just makes a big difference to our system having a left footer there. Yoro on the right, De Ligt or Maguire in the middle.

I think this might depend on whether Dalot comes back at some point soon.

I think if everyone was fit now Amorim's preference would still probably be Dalot-Maz-DeLigt-Yoro-Dorgu. There's also some chance Amorim sticks with Maguire and plays DeLigt-Maguire-Yoro as the 3 CBs.

If Dalot remains injured, Maz will play RWB and it opens up a spot at centre back.

Maybe some chance Amad gets given at run at RWB to end the season.

Shaw has looked better at LWB in his limited time so far, when most people thought he could only really play LCB these days. Though the chances of Shaw being fit enough to get up and down the wing for 90 minutes at LWB is not very high.

He's still the best crosser United have, and one of the best in the League.

Did well in the offensive third against 10 men. Not so good defensively I thought as he had poor clearances and standoffish with his 1 vs 1s in that short amount of time.

Shaw looked like he gained a few pounds and has been out for not sure how long. I wouldn't start him in a final that is a must win for the club. Our season and perhaps even out summer transfer activity hinges on the Europa title.

Just keep using him off the bench. Let him be the game changer, we shouldn't risk his body exploding. You can see we're managing his game time well, he's not been thrown immediately back in the lineup despite our dodgy form. We should really be managing his and Mounts game time with the view of making an impact next season rather than this one. Happy to see him back and even happier to see he's not been dropped in the deep end.

He's perfect for that position. I don't know if he's fit enough to start the final but he's only option that can actually be effective.

Hilarious to come in here and the first thing I see is he should be starting a European final for us, how he’s pulled the wool over peoples eyes for 11 years amazes me, can’t wait to see the back of him

I could not agree more.

Said this before, Shaw is done.

He needs few games to get going, plays okay then gets injured. Rinse and repeat.

He had huge potential but failed to live up to it due to injuries. He should be nowhere near the final.

I praised him for being good for the first 15 mins or whatever it was and then he got the own goal and just fell apart from there.

He can only play in spurts nowadays until he builds full fitness i.e something I don't think we can realistically expect with the way he conditions himself.

The more injured he is, the better he becomes. Like many United legends over the years, Pogba, Martial, etc.

He's got the physique of a 55 year old former player who were dragged into some game for charity. There's so many things that are baffling around the guy.

A- How much he's rated among certain fans.
B- How some believe that a LB whose been injured for so long can magically make in a new role.
C- How people naively believe that someone who can barely play 45 mins of football without breaking can be useful in any shape and form.

I'd say we play him in his natural role (he can still whip a ball). He's useless as CB and he's certainly won't leave before his contract expires.

Amad and Mound rightly getting the plaudits, but Shaw at LWB looks better then anything we've seen all season in that position

He needs game time unfortunately, he clearly isn't match fit and it's especially evident in his physical fitness as well as his lack of awareness at the back.

A fully fit and firing Luke Shaw is one of the best players in the world in his position, but if we don't play him into fitness he'll be a liability in the final.

This. Fitness wouldn’t allow it over a long period but I’d absolutely be aiming for it in a one-off game.
Yep, it's worth the risk for a final even if his body ends up breaking down as a result. Dorgu's inability to even complete a 5 yard pass was driving me up the wall tonight

Has to play games leading to the final and pray he stays fit
