Generally think he’s been a better player this season but watching that game it’s clear he’s nowhere near the player he once was. Such a nonentity going forward now.

I don’t think I’ve been that angry at a United player (except dalot) in a while than I was for that goal. Absolutely bottled the header. And then didn’t bother getting back in position to defend.

Should be fined a week's wages for that. Zero reason to be pussy out of thay when it was Bowen behind you.

He's physically shot, he has enough quality to coast through a lot of games but he used to be so powerful and quick.

Even at his best he has it in him to be a lazy bastard in terms of intensity and tonight was an example

He's lost a fair bit of pace, for sure, and his agility, albeit never great, has gone to pieces. Whatever the feck he was doing for their goal is for someone else to analyse, but it was proper shite. In attack he did very little bar almost scoring a goal. He's terribly one footed, isn't he, so much so that it impairs his game, and when his agility has departed him, it means that simple passes are now beyond him as he can't twist his body enough.

Playing in the back 3 really suited him, because it's clear he's just not the same play going forward anymore.

He and Martinez were awful for that goal.
Martinez was fecked because Shaw dived in straight after his massive feck up and he had no cover for the middle which Shaw should have been instead of flat on his ass.

fecked up on the bounce and then took himself out of the game with the challenge afterwards. Didn't attack well either. Games like these remind you that Shaw for all his talent, always lacked the consistency over a full season.

I think that’s it, isn’t it. He’s so stiff now and that’s mostly because he’s so one footed without the mobility to compensate

I think once he makes the mistake for the goal he has to defend properly or clean the attacker out. He took himself out. So so bad

Him in a nutshell only he does it every game, and it's no doubt the reason why he's stayed injury free as he's permanently stuck in 2nd/3rd gear

He's a liability at this stage. He's been far better than I would have expected this season, but now he's had a proper run of games, and he's shown that he's not up to a high enough level. His first touch is world class, but his defending isn't good enough; he looks slow, and as you say, he's so stiff that he's almost a liability in attack because he can't do what a player at that level should be able to - doesn't pass with his left, and isn't able to position his body for a left pass all the time.

I wish someone could ask him why he let the ball bounce.

His average performances have been seen as good by many, his defending on the goal was against basics learnt as kids, don't let the ball bounce and don't dive in.

He has done okay overall this season, but he shouldn't be relied on like he is.

Cost us 2 points today. Needs replacing because he just can't be relied on not to make defensive mistakes like that.

You knew if he let that ball bounce we’d be in trouble. He followed it up with a lunge. His passing in tight areas is always pretty solid, but doesn’t seem to offer anything going forward. Always cutting back. Was very unlucky not to score, mind.

Can’t hack two games a week. But he’s not the only one in our squad, who can’t handle that.

He was a liability all game, looked slow and leggy, his passing was off, and he was generally passive throughout. The West Ham goal was terrible from him, but it was in line with his performance.

He's urgently in need of replacement if we're to have any ambitions of controlling matches on the front foot, especially if we play more often than once a week.

Seems to have a mistake in him just like Dalot.

In games like this you keep things tight get your 1 nil win and go back home

Shocking defending for their goal, not once but twice.

If we replace both our full backs with quality this summer, we'd loom very good. Our 2 weakest starting players.

Time for him to leave now. I’m amazed we’ve had this season out of him, but he’s a shit house and isn’t our future.

Wrong. It was three times. Let it bounce, got bodied by Bowen which was embarrassing, and then dived into a tackle he was never making because he’s too lazy to turn and chase. He looked like a geriatric out there today. Never broke into a sprint. And that’s on top of his usual on the ball stuff which is non existent. Should have been moved on years ago, just not at the level and never has been.

His fault for the goal and as per usual so many wasted crossing opportunities.

Need a LB desperately. Shaw coasts through games. Nowhere near good enough.

He cannot play the position anymore. This is currently as good as it's going to get because he's been fit and hoping for an outside chance of the world cup but one thing Amorim got right is that he's a LCB now. Doesn't have the stamina to get up and down the pitch as much as we need. Once Dorgu got injured it's exposed Shaw on both sides a bit.

He barely makes recovery tackles nowadays, if someone gets in front of him he just does the lazy thing and fouls them.
