He's a ok cb and that's it now. Offers little as a fullback. I mean, he's scared to cross over the fecking half way line nowadays because he'll get done on the counter.
Slow and predicatable. Needs to be got rid of but he somehow keeps finding ways to stay at this club.
Good summary. Dorgu's drive is such an important factor for United. This lad needs to be back out there asap. Shaw will receive competition in the summer (hopefully), my choice would be Diouf of West Ham. The lad has a fantastic engine and is strong in the air, capable of offering much, much more going forward than Shaw.Light and shadows yesterday. Defensively it was really bad. On the ball, he was one of the better players with some great wide passes. He is clearly not able to run up and down the line for 90 minutes. It is bit like with Eriksen after the Andy Carroll foul. He needs physical players around him for him to be functioning at this point in his career. We have seen it work. The combination of Shaw at LB and Dorgu at LW was cracking against City and Arsenal, and those are the hardest games in the PL. Cunha does not offer the same defensively as Dorgu, and that is a big problem for Shaw. He got overrun all the time resulting in dangerous crosses all the time. That is not happening with Dorgu in front of him. The dane binds the opposition backs with his pressing and running.
Agreed, he made some great runs going forward but the passes didn’t reach him.Such a good player. Excellent again today defensively and even getting forward more. So pleased that he’s managed to stay fit for nearly a full season at this stage of his career.
A standard part of the game now. A lot of players have learned to do this in a less obvious way. Unfortunately Shaw hasn't mastered it.Defensively he was pretty solid aside from that early yellow card.
This is not really criticism as I just think it’s funny at this point but I actually looked up how many times he’s been booked and it’s 86 times. I guarantee at least 40 of them are for the same offence. He’s actually a very clean, capable tackler it’s just the pulling back of a player on the counter that he always seems to get booked for.
