His attacking legs are clearly significantly diminished , really has to pick his moments now in that aspect but he is still a very classy player.

Look at his defensive control of his flank today compared to Robertson if you want to see what a washed LB really looks like.

Was really good today. Possibly his best game of the season.

Feels like a while since he made an attacking contribution. His crosses lead to both goals today.

Thought he was excellent and largely has been all season. Managing his minutes next season is going to be key as we cant afford for him to be unavailable for long periods.

He is a fullback these days not a wingback isnt he ? Which is a shame because I can still remember him early on thinking this guy will be a marcelo / roberto Carlos kind of player by the time he is 25-26.

A shame. Useful but I still think LB and RB should have a bite in both sides of the pitch and right now Shaw is bad and Dalot is ridiculously inconsistent when we attack.

We are in a situation where we can say "he has to go" in every position of the squad.

I believe that we can squeeze a couple more seasons out of him and need to sign a CB more urgently than a LB (in reality we need both but it is what it is).

He's definitely "earned" another season based off of some of his performances this season and more importantly his ability to stay fit but next year is going to be a real test for him with the amount we'll be playing. Still feel we need to improve on both full backs for the good of the team but midfield takes precedent this summer.

Shaw was excellent in his most recent performance. Whether or not he's still England material, Shaw -- no longer young Luke -- looks like a player who's got one more quality season in him. I'd still address the backup LB problem this summer to phase in that new LB while we phase Shaw out, but if we find ourselves deep in the PL and/or CL hunts next season I'd have no problem with Shaw being our first choice LB going into the final stretches of those hunts.

Probably his best season with us for quite some time. Hope he carries on next year like this but its always hard to predict with certainty.

He tends to have one season where he’s on WC levels or close to it followed by one season where he’s perma crocked.

So he’s just had a very good season this season…

His contract expire on 2027, so I don't mind him staying for another season and can leave on a free next year. Would love us to get Lewis Hall this season, but Newcastle are going to ask a lot for him

Lewis Hall might look exciting bombing forward but he can't defend. Right now Shaw is better.

Sunderland 0:0 Man Utd New
Pretty anonymous really. Didn't see anything good or bad from him really.

Man Utd 3:2 Nottingham Forest New
Very good performances lately. Such a shame, it usually doesn't go beyond a season, before his body is falling apart again.

He's been pretty much performing like this all season and when fit this is his usual level. He's just a very good fullback who has injury issues. He shouldn't get half as much of the hate he gets from the fans.

His attacking output is normally next to 0. Defensively he's been good for the majority of the season but going the other way he's not offered much throughout the season. Lovely finish today though, just needs to find his crossing boots because he used to be fantastic at it. Very happy that he's maintained his fitness.

Great goal to top off a good season. Abit lazy on their second goal though, and that’s always been one of his issues defensively.

Shaw has been solid all season long, great that he got a goal as well.

There always has to be a couple of players for the fans to direct their ire at.

Dalot is also better than given credit for, though he does some silly things that people remember.

Shaw is just a quality player, he isn't the athlete he was 3-4 years ago, but he is still elite technically.

Solid performance and delighted to see him get a goal! Needs to be managed if we’re being realistic next season, as he will break down with too many games.

Even that I'd challenge, attacking wise his performance was no different than his usual performances, he just happened to score a goal. He's never been an aggressive attacking fullback. His strengths has always been defensive and his very good technical ability.

Good player and had a Good season.
I’m not sure I want him to go to the World Cup and break down again.

He was never Nuno Mendes but he always have the ability to overlap and put in a decent ball and that's completely deserted him this season.

Looking at the last 6 seasons it's funny how much his availability correlates with us finishing 3rd or above.

Obviously many reasons but it doesn't half help to have a left back playing at left back.

Started all 37 games and you'd expect him to start vs Brighton as well. Don't think even most optimistic fan would've expected that before the season, even without European football and basically one game a week.

I dont think it's completely deserted him. And he's also had Cunha ahead of him most of the season, so probably had to be more disciplined defensively.

Cunha has been sound defensively for the majority of the season. If anything it's his game that's hindered by Shaw's unwillingness to pass the half way line, Cunha gets 0 support offensively from Shaw normally. Took his goal beautifully today though and hopefully next season we see more going forward.

Happy for him but at the same time

Its a world cup year

Funnily enough, I think our best seasons post fergie have been when Shaw has been fit enough to play a good chunk of the season
