I been saying since last season the guy is the weakest link in our defence Varane coming in has only highlighted it further.

Was never good enough, was never worth the allocation of funds. Fell on deaf ears years ago because he arranged a team get together, he has done nothing to warrant the move let alone the captaincy.

10 goals conceded in the 3 games he's played since his return and he's probably directly responsible for over half of them.

When? It isn't even the worst performance by a United captain in the last 10 days. Rewatch the game vs Leicester, he was even more shocking than today.

That the Harry Maguire who captained his national team to a European final without conceding a goal from open play?

Its completely pointless blaming individuals today. This is all down to shape and organisation

Don't delude yourself. His individual weaknesses are there for all to see and the opposition has been exploiting it all season.

He's not a professional footballer.

There's nothing professional about performing like this and it's not even a one off.

If you asked me for a list of the top 3 worst performances from a united player they'd all be Harry Maguire

My wit's end
At times, he's being left at sea by the lack of shape on either side of him. Lindelof and Shaw have been all over the place, and Maguire keeps diving in to singlehandedly save the situation.

Ironically, he'd look better individually if he stopped trying to correct other players' mistakes. Which is not to say he's been flawless himself. He's made more than his share of errors. But his desire to take on all the responsibility himself makes him look even worse.

Maguire has, in general, been a decent player for us. Been a massive step up from Bailly, Lindelof, Smalling et al. He's not amongst the very best CBs in the world , but I think he's a tier below that.

He's played poorly this season and towards the end of last season. But personally I think that's far more of a systematic issue rather than though him being a poor player. It's pretty clear that there's no link between midfield and defence. The midfield doesn't cover the defence and the defence doesn't know what their partner across the line should be doing. Get a competent set if coaches in and we'd see a much better Maguire.

Sorry, but what???
Hes the reason there is no shape in the defence.
He got zero football brain, chasing the ball all over the place leaving big holes in the defence.
Most be a nightmare for the rest of the backline to play with Maguire.

My gut feeling is any new manager would go Varane and lindelof. But i think every single player will improve under a new manager too.

Him and AWB are Oles legacy, 130m ball and chain for the next manager
Genuinely think they’ll both be binned by any future manager, AWB may stand a chance but I don’t see someone playing 4 at the back keeping this guy in the team.

He best pray for Conte.

This is the same kind of mental gymnastics people use to minimise the criticism of the manager, ‘<insert name> has been bad but it’s <insert name> fault for being worse’.

Maguire has been rubbish, Shaw has been rubbish & so has Shaw. AWB is hopeless & DdG has bailed them out all season.

Maguire has been this poor multiple times since joining, it’s embarrassing.

But every player has a weakness.. it is the coaches job to make his better ..
However him and Shaw shouldn't have started the last few games ..

Maguire's weakness seems to be allowing his team to get completely humiliated on repeated occasions because he isn't professional enough to keep himself remotely fit. It happened last season. It's happened in our last two league games. He's gotten away with it probably 5+ other times since signing for us.

As far as weaknesses go it's a pretty bad one. It's like your weakness as a professional lawyer being that you keep defending people by accidentally proving that they're guilty.

Usually think comments like this are hyperbole but he genuinely has a cheek to be claiming a wage off the club. He IS NOT a professional footballer

Honestly Lindelof should be played alongside Varane, people complain about Lindelof but Maguire's weaknesses are just as prevelant.
