Im seeing it everywhere. Like you cant have an opposing opinion if you dont live in the shadow of Old Trafford
Nobody says that. I don't live in Manchester and if Ireland wasn't in lockdown I'd be over protesting at every home game. What people are saying, is that if you're criticising local fans for protesting what's happening to their local club because:
a) you're upset that some people broke onto the pitch,
b) a game you wanted to watch got postponed,
c) fixtures got a bit congested,
d) they risked getting some points deducted,
or;
e) they risked upsetting some sponsors and hypothetically our ability to make more money than other clubs,
then, don't get upset if some of us lose respect for you.
Nobody is criticising anyone for speaking out against violence against police officers or anyone else. Show me someone who is and I'll show you an idiot. Some people are explaining that a couple of idiots going too far is inevitable at any such event and that minority shouldn't be used to quash legitimate protest, but that is a very different thing.
