Is everyone back to make an appearance for this one?

Would be inclined to start the same team as today but for Lammens and Bruno coming in, particularly if we are planning on starting that back four against Hull.

Perhaps bring Dalot, Cunha, Tielemans and Sesko on at half time and then Lacey and Mazraoui slightly later.

If we are going to start Tielemans from the start against Hull, maybe we give him longer here instead of Mount. If Bruno isn’t ready in time, Mount and Tielemans can both start this one.

I really can't see us start the season with Yoro at RB when Dalot is available

Another pre-season game.
Another half-empty Scandinavian stadium to play too

Hopefully the likes of Tielemans, Bruno and Sesko are in for this one.

Agreed, perhaps overkill for Hull and Ipswich even if there is some potential defensive benefit in using him there for trickier games in future.

90mins for Shaw?

Thankfully, the likes of Doue & Dembele should still be away. Pre-season or not, a bad defeat won't be great for confidence!

I hope Sesko and Tielemans are fit. At least from the bench.

I also expect other returnees to play a part. Bruno might even start.

Ya I think so. He looks fit and hasn't played 90 mins yet, nor has Maguire, whereas Heaven and Yoro have

I get that but I’d be scared of playing him for the full match, especially before we buy another left back. If he picks up an injury our negotiating position is terrible.

I hope Tielemans is ready to start this game. Really interested to see how him and Santos get on as a pairing.

Yeah I doubt he plays the full 90 for this, he's played every game so far in preseason. Plus we have midweek game against Leeds. Amass will probably hang around until after the LB situation gets situated. Dalot and Maz will probably go 45/45 against PSG then probably something like 75/15 against Leeds and AC Milan with them alternating who starts.

So I actually doubt Shaw will play a full 90 and risk it. Amass will start one of the games, which one will be interesting

Those fools lost to Chelsea last preseason. Chelsea!
Makes you wonder, how do European teams have so many gears?

Is it a conscious thing?
I recently mentioned when we played Real in a pre-season friendly and handled them quite easily, we next played them in a supercup about a fortnight later (I think) and while the score wasn't terrible, they played us off the park and beat us easily.

Preseason is understandably not usually played at full on intensity, so I kinda get that, however, you have teams like PSG & Bayern who are beatable in the group stages of the CL, but you meet them in the knockouts and they're a completely different proposition. Again, is it intentional? Do they intentionally not play at full intensity for a CL game where qualification for the knockouts is not guaranteed?

There has always been the notion that the EPL teams just run out steam in the CL due to the intensity of the league, but it really does feel like regardless of opposition, some of these big continental teams find a good few gears extra in the latter stages.

Against Atletico, I really enjoyed seeing Amad and Lacey together. They didn't actually link-up that much but it was just nice seeing two attackers who had the technical quality to play in tight spaces.

I'm looking forward to seeing both together again. The more they play together, the more I think the link-up play will progress as they like the same areas on the field, and they're both promising when it comes to playing 1-2s through teams.

Amad is definitely more of a player who prefers playing like that whereas Lacey can be quite individualistic, but I think he'll become more of a team player in the first team.

They're currently getting battered 3-0 by Mallorca, as they pretty much have Kvara and nobody because so many of their players went deep into the World Cup.

Could end up being a fairly comfortable game with them having a lot of players in their first game back and/or reserves.

Yeah, I just saw this. Wanted them to have a strong team to see where we're at, albeit only a pre season friendly.

Dunno on Lacey, all his cameos he was taking pot shots for. 25 yards. I don't mind that though, would like a more direct option from the bench.

I think Lacey is like that because of our Academy, we really emphasize individuality with our attackers. Probably why we produce dangerous wingers.
