Hopefully he's ready for their trip to Chelsea.

I wish we’d signed Mahrez for our RW. Shame he’s become a squad member for City.
I don't know how we let this happen. It's the cost of having Mourinho and LVG during that period. Mahrez would have been an absolute star at United on the right hand side. The type of things he can do on the ball is amazing. City don't even use him properly if you ask me, because they prefer their wingers bombing down the flanks as opposed to cutting in, as it takes the space of Debruyne and Silva.

And to think that he was available, for a relatively reasonable fee, PL proven and in an area we needed. How we were never linked with him, let alone sign him, when we are linked with every single player in the world. Along with Kante, he was one of the key architects of Leicester's title win. I genuinely consider Mahrez to be one of the most underrated players in the league. He did his own talent the biggest disservice by accepting a squad role at City.

What were the options available to him at the time he wanted to leave Leicester, he stayed a season at Leicester and only Arsenal showed interest, Man Utd and City were after Sanchez. With Sane leaving Mahrez becomes a regular with Sterling on the wings.

Mahrez game at Leicester was to get the ball, take on defenders and go for the goal. He takes a lot of shots even if they are low percentage shots, Pep on the other hand ants to recycle possession until a higher percentage chance opportunity presents. It probably took him more time to get used to Peps style

After watching City demolish Arsenal and Burnley, and Liverpool limp to an unimpressive goalless draw against Everton that was similar in performance to a good 50% of their games this season, it begs the question as to how Liverpool are currently 20 points clear at the top. It doesn't add up, not even when you include all the good fortune they've had this season.
I know xG isn't perfect and all that jazz... But Liverpool are "outperforming" their xG/xGA by 21 points

City have been unlucky at times and dumb at times (defending wise) but even then, Liverpool have simply stepped up to what they assumed would be a stiff challenge coming from a side that cleared 100 points 2 seasons ago and overhauled a 11 point gap last season.

Combination of 2 things: Liverpool even in games like the one against Everton have usually managed to snatch a win, even when they are looking terrible, and City have put up a poor title defence (and been unlucky Laporte was out for so long) and come up with some really stupid performances at time. Liverpool, without being good, have just been consistent in a poor league thanks to their maturity and experience, and hard work.

After Ederson there are question marks about all our keepers.
Bravo and Carson are on borrowed time and Muric's loan at Forest was a season wasted.
Bazunu had a shaky start in the youth team but has improved but is behind American international Zack Steffen who is is on City's books and is currently on loan at Fortuna Dusseldorf. He has a future in a top league whether at City or not.
Guillem Balague has claimed that the City Hierarchy want to make Steffen 2nd Choice at the Eithad next season. A good decision if true considering that Bravo provides zero competition for Ederson (an issue that has played a part in some of Ederson's less impressive performances at City), especially when City need to spend money in other areas in the squad such as LB, CB and on the Wings.

Don’t you dare rest players tonight. You’ve got a superior coach & a superior squad, you should be battering Chelsea.

Come on Citeh!

My only worry is they have dead food at the back like Stones & Otamendi. I pray to god neither get on the pitch tonight.

Ederson
Walker Fernandinho Laporte Mendy
Rodri
De Bruyne D or B Silva
Mahrez Jesus Sterling

Even if they do, have you seen their squad? It literally wouldn't matter who is fielded.

They rested KDB, Sterling, Laporte on Monday, so you can reasonably expect those three to start... And they just so happen to be their best wide forward, their most creative midfielder, and their best defender.

I just can't see a situation where Chelsea poses a threat to them, IMO. Especially with that creaky defence.

So a City win to give Liverpool the chance to win at the Emptihad or make a mess of it tonight and do a guard of honour next week instead. Some scenario

Interesting twist for City tonight..... If they don't win they have to give the scousers a guard of honour next week. They won't want to do that surely? Good news for us I reckon. They will surely try and put on a good show.

Depends on the CAS outcome.
Pretty much. If City are banned then nobody, if not F. Torres, Bailey and Adama were linked so far but seems like Pep's priority is CB then possibly CM and decide what to do with Cancelo.

You'd think a competitive sod like Pep will be absolutely desperate for City to turn this around, so they can prevent having to give Liverpool a guard of honour and can beat them to walk off the pitch with them still not being champions.

Best style and attack in the league, but a mess of a back line.

You just have to hang in there against City when they have a good spell in a game.

If you mange to get through it without falling behind, they're incredibly vulnerable at the back and you can get at them.

Now that aguero is on the decline they really have no threats. sterling is their only direct threat. Sane is about to leave and mahrez doesn't take on players unless he is in the box.

This city team is too easy to defend against which is new. They need to hold unto sane.

Roll on them getting the ban upheld - we probably are relying on 5th to get us in league wise!

They've been vulnerable the entire season, so this isn't too much of a surprise. But they have had some sloppy matches like today throughout their season because they don't have good enough players anymore.

Their CB position is average, LB has been a revolving door of average, transition away from Fernandinho and David Silva in central midfield, and the injuries to Aguero who only made 26 league appearances (Gabriel Jesus isn't good enough to challenge for league honors) and Laporte. So no surprise that City has comeback down to earth, but they should be spending significant amounts of money within the next couple of years if Pep and City's football side have the resources and have the commitment.

Almost need a new spine of a team, need a CB, Fernandinho is 35, David Silva is leaving and Aguero is 32 and injury prone. Lost 2 more games this season than Wolves

How can they look so incredible one week then so useless the next.
