Arsenal Football Club, also known as The Gunners, are a professional football club based in Holloway, London, England; and were founded in 1886 as Dial Square, by the workers of the Royal Arsenal armaments facility, before being subsequently renamed as Royal Arsenal. Arsenal are one of the most successful and popular clubs in the history of the English league, with a trophy haul than includes 13 League titles, 12 FA Cups, and 2 League Cups. Since the arrival of current manager Arsène Wenger, Arsenal have built a reputation for playing an attractive, streamlined style of football that rivals some of the best teams in Europe while boasting the likes of Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Vieira, Cesc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie. The club plays its home games at the Emirates Stadium, and has a bitter sporting rivalry with neighbors Tottenham Hotspur in a match termed the North London Derby; apart from a competitive rivalry against the other major clubs of the Premier League, especially Manchester United - in an affair that peaked in the late 1990s-early 2000s period.

    Team I think will play:

    De Gea

    Darmian/Young Jones Rojo Blind
    Carrick Herrera
    Mata Pogba Lingard
    Rooney

Didn’t even bother to give Martial or Rashford any gametime against Swansea. Can’t see them starting vs Arsenal. Defence will probably be different but fairly confident that will be the front six.

    I'm fearful for us.
Remember last year, when they were in top form, and we had ridiculous injuries, and had to field some kid called Rashford up front?
This year almost looks comfy in comparison

Up front is a real dilemma though. Martial hasn't played up there for Mourinho, Rashford barely has, so will it be Rooney?
    Difficult one.

No point playing Fellaini against this Arsenal side as they will pass it around him at will but he will definitely play for his "threat" from set pieces which might be our best chance of scoring especially if Rooney plays as the 9.

I don't trust the Rojo Jones combination at all if I am honest.

Mata to play and subbed by Mkhi, Martial for Rooney, Rashford for Ibra, Herrera for Fellaini. Sorted.

Young was good today at right back. So he will probably be right back against Arsenal.

Herrera will be back, so I expect a Herrera/Pogba/Mata/Martial/rashford

Whatever it takes, we have to win this one. Let's see the team after internationals

    Young - Jones - Rojo - Blind
    Carrick
    Herrera - Pogba
    Rashford - Rooney - Martial

I think we'll win. We seem to have a psychological edge over Arsenal in recent seasons especially at home. Mourinho's record against Wenger is also brilliant.

    1-0

Pity about Zlatan. Looks like he's coming into a bit of form, too.

What I would go for if fit while being semi realistic...
    De gea
    Darmian Smalling Jones Shaw
    Carrick
    Mata Herrera Pogba Rooney
    Martial
Possibly Young in for darmian. The midfield 5 really should be a no brainer with those (yes even rooney). Rooney has always stepped it up when needed to against them, you know he'll put in a shift, and for his standards, is in relatively good form the last few games. Martial up top wont happen but its easily our best option. Much better player then rashford whether its up top or out wide, and its time to get the most out of him. Rashford up top and any semblance of hold up play is gone, while bellerin, mustafi and koscielny can match him pace wise so there goes his only threat these days.

Got to be hopeful on Smalling, but not sure how long a broken arm takes to heal, let alone to allow full contact/Premier league level fitness. He must be struggling.

We'll certainly need more pacy and mobility v Arsenal. Hopefully Smalling, Martial, Rashford/Lingard and even Shaw come back into the mixer.

Worst case scenario is if we basically field today's lineup, but with say Herrera or Lingard coming in for Ibra, and the rest shuffled.

One major advantage for us is that this is the first game on Saturday after the break and most of our players won't make their national teams so we have more time to prepare than Arsenal

Yeah, I hope Mourinho has the guts to play Carrick in this game. He did use that midfield against City, so there's some hope.
