Pity this is at Old Trafford. Honestly, the main silver lining I had with Jessi staying this season is my retaining hope that he can return to his dance floor for one last performance.

I can take a defeat against most teams...apart from that lot. Absolutely detest them with a passion. I just hope we fecking smash 'em.

Why so many still picking Rashford? May be Jesse /Mason/Cavani deserves a chance than him

At this point Arsenal have to be considered favourites for this, which is a bit mad. I don't expect Rangnick to work miracles in three days.

We are well due a win against these feckers, but they are annoyingly in decent form.

Rotation will be required, the boys really put in a shift this match. Especially with Palace on the weekend that's 4 pretty tough matches in the space of 9 days.

We used to slap them left, right and center. I miss those days. Based on how much RR will be with the team I expect to see some slight changes and tweaks already in the way we'll play. And of course a new manager bounce on which we'll smash them 4:0.

An absolute must win game, 5 points behind arsenal and I we are to stand any chance of clawing our way back to top 4, we cannot afford to drop more points!

    Id like to see

    De Gea
    Bissaka - Lindelof - Bailly - Telles
    VDB - McTominay - Fred
    Sancho - Cavani - CR7

I'd like us to rotate a bit but to be honest do we have the chance to rotate that much ? Do we play Van de Beek and rest Bruno for Palace ? Do we play Lingard that will be off in 6 months ?

I would put the strongest team because we can't do differently.

    ------------------------------------------De Gea-----------------------------------------
    Wan Bissaka-------------Maguire-------Bailly-----Telles (Shaw if fit)
    Sancho----------------Mc Tominay--------Fred------------------Rashford
    ----------------------------Ronaldo--------------Bruno-------------------------------

Just hope we win, feels like we've had too many draws and losses to these, doesn't matter how bad they get. Perhaps with them playing well it can be a game instead of some drab stalemate decided by a daft moment.

Chelsea haven't beaten us since 2017. Problem isn't having a bad record against decent teams, problem is having a bad record against teams like Arsenal.
Really? Why do I always feel like we’re gonna lose whenever we play them then  Chelsea games usually worry me even more than City or Liverpool.

We have so many great memories against Arsenal. The Rooney/Ronaldo/Park counter, Nani’s excellent goal against them, Van Persie scoring at the Emirates, Lingard scoring and dancing in their stadium.

It would be nice to make another such memory in this match.

Quite something that the 8-2 or beating them with 7 defenders doesn't even make your 'list'. We really had their number.

It’s even funnier because I actually went to the 8-2 game. It was the third United match I had ever been to. Memory of a lifetime.

I was more thinking of isolated moments rather than entire games, but yeah we really have had their number. If we’re doing matches, how could we forget when we stopped them from going 50 unbeaten as well:drool:

Hope Cavani is fit for this one.

    Cavani Ronaldo Sancho
    Fred Bruno VDB
    Telles Bailly Lindelof AWB
    DDG

Must win game for us. For all those years when they were in a much worst state then us yet still managed to s*ithouse a result.

We've helped keep Arteta in a job which has made them a near mid-table club.

Really hope we batter them. We owe them a good beating and their fans are getting louder and more irritating.

Probably not enough time for Ralf to instil his ideas ahead of this game, but I hope he does enough just to show up Arteta as the chancer he is.

    I'd go with

    DdG/Hendo

    Telles
    Bailly
    Varane/Lindelof
    AWB

    Donny
    McT
    Fred

    Rashers
    Cavani
    Sancho

I'd drop Ronaldo and Bruno to the bench but bring them on in the second half.

    AwB
    Lindelof
    Bailly
    Telles

    Fred
    McT
    VdB

    Rashford
    Greenwood
    Sancho

That's what I'd like to see, but most likely Shaw, Maguire, Ronaldo and Bruno will be in instead of Bailly VdB, Telles and Greenwood

Unless I have missed it but seeing some of the lineups on here with Cavani in the starting eleven - is he back for this one? Big boost if he is!

Whoever drops Bruno is deluded. He's our best player.

I'd like to think he'll start a kind of 4-4-2, with Sancho on the right, Bruno on the left (playmaker type), Fred and McTominay on the base, and Greenwood with Ronaldo on top.

For some reason I really want to see both Sancho and Diallo on the wings, getting crosses into Ronaldo.

Match is on Amazon Prime I believe. Could we see the resurrection of Phil Jones if there’s a rotation theme? He can’t be tired. Three points will be the minimum required, don’t care how they do it as long as they do it. CR7 hat-trick?

Why was this match fixed for a Thursday?

From the Man United official statement

"Michael Carrick will remain in charge of the first team until Ralf’s work visa is finalised"

Unlikely to be finalised in 3 days.

It is must win but having said that we are about to hit what should on paper be a very easy run of matches, Arsenal just finished their easy run and have inflated their position by scraping 1-0 wins against the likes of Norwich but they are about to hit a tougher part of the schedule.

Am I the only one that thinks we'll revert to a back 3 with Maguire returning?

    De Gea
    Bailly - Lindelof - Maguire
    AWB - Fred - McT - Shaw
    Sancho - Bruno
    Ronaldo

If it was up to me though I'd like to see him dropped.

    De Gea
    AWB - Lindelof - Bailly - Shaw
    McT - VDB - Fred
    Sancho - Bruno
    Ronaldo

Were all feeling very optimistic, but I have a feeling Carrick will manage this game, obviously with RR influence. Arsenal have turned a corner as well. Im going 2-2.

feck sake another tough game! Our run has been ridiculous
i know right.. other teams have a nice run of easy games to get the wins and confidence up.. that's what this team needs when the confidence is on the floor.
