We desperately need to come up against naive opposition in order to get a result right now and hopefully build confidence. I fear Atalanta are not that side.

I expect the return of Mcfred to steady the ship.

Will be interesting to see if Rashford starts, and if he does what happens to Pogba. Will Rashford be shoved to the right side?

Let's hope Maguire will be in better shape with another few days training under him.

With Fernandes politely reminded he is part of the midfield, not attack...

Atalanta will come charging at us as they smell fear. Totally play into the one thing Oleball can be effective against - nice open teams.
    3-1 United
Leicester came charging at us as they smelt fear on Saturday, look how that went.

You're also severely underestimating Atalanta, they're no scrubs and have scored 90 goals minimum over their last 2 seasons, if they come at us, I fear for the worst.

Feels like one of those pivotal games where we'll smash them 4-0 and another false dawn will emerge, where we go on a winning run, until we eventually lose to Norwich.

I think we will win this game, expecting McTominay and Fred to come in at the expense of Matic and Sancho, although we could see Rashford start and Ole go with Pogba & Fred in the middle.

Haven't checked, but I assume Wan-Bissaka is still banned? Hopefully Dalot has a better game than last time.

Been a while since we knew how to play against a high press team

Wan-Bissaka won his appeal and is available for selection.

High press will panic us again. Let’s hope that playing at OT will panic Atalanta and we can get some rythem to score a few. Start Ronaldo, Greenwood and Sancho and bring on Cavani and Rashford for the last twenty minutes. Drop Maguire.

They are undefeated in their five away matches so far this season, and got good draws away at Inter and Villarreal. Will be a tough one, but I do fancy us to get the win, with both teams to score.

Why anyone is keen on seeing Maguire play for the rest of this month is beyond me, Fergie would have dropped him for at least a month after that shit show performance he put up against Leicester at the last weekend.

Bench Ronaldo and give Cavani the start. We need some passionate fire going here and no one brings that more than Edi.

I think we'll beat Atalanta, and probably manage a draw against Liverpool. The team has a tendency to pull a result out when expectations are at their lowest. It's almost as if they do just enough to keep Ole ticking over for another while.

I think we will see 4-3-3 with one pivot and 2 attacking number 8's.

    DDG
    A.W.B LINDELOF MAGUIRE SHAW
    MCTOM
    BRUNO V.D.B
    GREENWOOD RONALDO RASHFORD

Is what I would like to see. Doubt I will be so lucky though and probably have to watch another tempoless pogba display.

This is the team I would play too. I'd have McT over Fred and Matic as I think we could do with McT's legs in there and Bruno and VdB for one to go and one to sit.

I'd actually be inclined against the top 6 to play Cavani over Ronaldo to allow us to press more from the front too.

I agree with the idea of cavani over Ronaldo in certain situations and I nearly picked it myself. The front three is actually very difficult to put together, lots of talent and competition and finding the right balance will be key to it working well as a unit.

I think Ronaldo would be better used as a flat track bully, whereas if we are expecting a difficult game than cavani may be the better option for his extra workrate and tenacity.

Unfortunately, I cannot see us winning this game. I watched the second half of the Atalanta game against Young Boys and I cannot see this team withstanding even 1/2 of the pressure they put on Young Boys.

I can see us going with a 4-2-3-1 and hoping for a couple on the break. McFred to start.

Atalanta aren’t in great form themselves this season so no need to talk them up as boogeymen. If we don’t win this then it’s another nail in Oles coffin

    I would go with

    DDG
    AWB Maguire Lindelöf Shaw
    Matic
    Fred McTominay
    Bruno
    Cavani Ronaldo

Pogba, Rashford and who ever as subs.

    AWB
    Maguire
    Lindleof
    Shaw

    Matic
    Mctominay
    Fred
    Bruno

    Cavani
    Greenwood

Rashford and Ronaldo to come on the hour mark if we need a goal. VDB for Matic if we can afford to.

I kind of want Ole to just come out and say Manchester United will be playing 4-4-fecking-2 and walk off
