Hardest line up to predict for ages. Personally hope we play none of our first choice XI but think Ole might go strong.

Really worried about our squad depth for the second half of the season. We're competing in four competitions and even though we've got players coming back from injury only Pogba is first choice.

I'll miss this, it's my Xmas do for work - well, I'll miss at least the first half, probably the second too.

    2-1 United.

Play everyone on the bench from the City game, and a few youngsters.

One of Rashy and Martial on the bench as security, but hope not to use them.

Early thoughts are something along the lines of:

    Romero
    Young Tuanzebe Jones Williams
    Matic
    Andreas Levitt
    Mata
    Greenwood Martial
    ---
Grant; Dalot, Lindelof; Garner, Fred, Lingard; Rashford
If this ends up roughly correct, ideally we can just take off Young & Matic for Dalot & Garner and that's that. Take the win/draw and top the group.

Probably will be something like this. Would be nice to give Rashford and Martial a full night off though. Prem games coming thick and fast for the rest of the month and they'll both have to play every minute.

Hope we're going to play our best youngsters combined with our best first teamers for the rest of the EL. I don't want to see Levitt next to Jones in midfield, and similar feckery.

Cheers mate ;) That's all I reckon. He might add a few U23 kids to use as subs in case we are up with 10 mins to go but Levitt is the only one I think is in with a chance of a start to give McT and Fred a rest.
Those two players are now available for selection.

We can't afford to lose this game, why do people think we are going to rest most of our starters?

Got 16 points in the line-up predictor game v Astana, but this is much tougher, wouldn't be surprised if I get 10 or less -

    Romero
    Young Tuanzebe Jones Shaw
    Garner Matic
    Chong Mata Gomes
    Greenwood

Kovar, Laird, Williams, Mengi or Bernard, Taylor, Galbraith or Puigmal, Mellor or Ramazani

    2-1

Almost sure Levitt is injured, so Galbraith might get another chance, and Arnau Puigmal too, and if we are leading with a few minutes to go I wouldn't be surprised if Max Taylor gets a run-out which would be very special for the kid, his family and friends.

    Garner--Matic
    Pereira--Mata--Gomes
    Greenwood

Subs: Grant; Laird, Bernard; Galbraith, Puigmal; Chong, Ramazani

I'm pretty certain that Levitt is injured.

This is only on the Spanish channel in my area. I'll have to depend on you lot to keep my informed.

    (Sigh)
 Been there, done that! Orlando City had a few games here that were only available on the Spanish channel. My wife correctly commented (because all of her comments are correct) that it sounds so much better and exciting in Spanish. Unfortunately, we had no idea what they were actually saying.

Shame Myron Boadu can't play. You lot would've been in for a treat. Special talent that.

I have almost the same but I don't think Jones will get near the defense after his last outing. Maguire to partner Tuanzebe and Scott for Levitt.

Yeah, obvious change now the squad has been released.

I would like Maguire & Rashford to be left on the bench, even McTominay & Fred really, but there's a decent chance one or two of them start.

Garner is young and could (and probably wants to) play 90 minutes tonight. It might be a bit of an ask for Matic with it being his first game back. Maybe Garner & Matic will start together but we replace Matic with McTominay or Fred after 60-70 minutes. I think I'm actually going to go with this:

    Romero
    Young Tuanzebe Jones Williams
    Garner Matic
    Andreas
    Mata Greenwood Martial

It will be somewhat fluid, as Matic could sit with Andreas/Garner in front and Mata at the top of the diamond. Andreas or Mata can go to the right of a front three at any point. I imagine Chong replaces Martial as long as we are winning, otherwise Ole might end up giving Rashford 20 minutes instead. Hopefully, we can afford to bring on Laird as well at some point, but I think the substitutions are just massively dependent on how comfortable we are in the game.

Think their will be goals in this game tonight as I can’t see AZ parking the bus knowing that if they win, then they top the group. Therefore can see them leaving spaces for our front men to exploit.

    Starting XI:

    Romero

    Laird
    Tuanzebe
    Jones
    Williams

    Garner
    Matic

    Greenwood
    Mata
    Chong

    Martial

    subs:
    Grant
    Maguire
    Young
    McTominay
    Fred
    Pereira
    Rashford

    Score Prediction:
    Manchester United 4-2 AZ Alkmaar

From today till 5th Jan we'll have 8 games, basically one game every 3 days. What a crucial period and we just barely got our best players back.

Ole must be crazy to field the first team players, maybe 1-2 max is my guess. Pereira will play as Sunday he won't.

    I will go with this:

    Romero
    Laird - Tuan - Jones - Williams
    Garner - Pereira
    Mata
    Chong - Greenwood - Young

Winning the group is important I think. Needs to be a stronger team than Astana.

I've got a feeling you're right with Laird and Chong playing 90 mins on Monday while Garner was the only one specifically subbed off. Sure, both Laird and Chong can start two games in a few days but feels like Young will start and with both Martial and Rashford in the team one of them will likely start instead of Chong.
