    de Gea

    Rafael (please be fit)
    Jones
    Rojo
    Shaw

    Blind
    Herrera
    Di Maria

    Rooney

    van Persie
    Falcao

SUBS: Valdes, Smalling, Evans, Fellaini, Valencia, Mata, Januzaj.

Maybe a couple of changes to keep it fresh. Taking it to mean that probably both RVP and Falcao are starting as they both got hooked today.

Think Van Gaal sees Rooney as more of a midfielder so I'd drop him after todays performance, give di Maria a rest and play some of the guys who either got 20 mins today or didn't play, hopefully we can put in a performance similar to the one seen today, 4-0 (Van Persie x2, Mata, Falcao from the bench)

Hopefully. RvP/Wilson/Rooney/Falcao can play up top, picked RvP as he came off early today. Hopefully some minutes later on for Pereira. Reckon will win it comfortably though.

We could have a chant to welcome back Luke Chadwick: CHADWICK 1 GERRARD 0

Prediction: 2-0 for us, though I'm not entirely confident on a clean sheet. (which is sad considering the level of the opposition)

I think LvG will want to keep momentum from the last game, at least in defence which is crucial for the comfort of LvG's rectum. I fully expect the exact same back four. However, I would not be surprised if Wilson started instead of RvP, and Januzaj deserves the replay so I hope he doesn't get dropped for Mata. Can't see Fellaini and Herrera starting but both will probably feature. Maybe De Gea gets a rest.

    De Gea
    Valencia Jones Rojo Shaw
    Rooney Blind Januzaj
    Di Maria
    Falcao Wilson

    Subs: Mata, Herrera, Fellaini
    4-1

hopefully we utterly run them ragged, and massively fatigue them, as Cambridge then play my other boys Wycombe at the weekend

time to give rooney a start upfront for the first time since 2010, although rvp subbed at the hour mark today might be a sign he will start again in midweek.

januzaj needs another start here. he was impressive the last 2 games. herrera simply has to play too.

Yes please. Smalling at RCB, though. Rooney for Falcao too.

I think that might be it though I can see Januzaj continue in the team.

Fellaini in for his height and strength as it was something LVG was worried about last time.

this is the team I'd like to see:

    Valdes
    Rafa-McNair-Evans-Blackett

    Fletcher(if not sold) or Thorpe

    Fellaini-Herrera

    Mata

    Wilson Rooney

I though Rooney played well today, don't know what match you were watching. Still, might be an idea to give him a rest, to come off the bench if needed. Evans is out with a knock, and anway he is unreliable. But I agree with your midfield; however I would pick Falcao over Wilson and rest people once we get the fourth :) Ergo...

    Valdes
    Valencia -- Jones -- Rojo -- Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera------------Fellaini
    Mata
    RVP --------Falcao

Its laughable how many times Rafael makes these lineups. He's so out of favor with LVG

Play four at the back and smash these dreamers!

They're going to come to Old Trafford and realise just how massive a football pitch can be and just what width can do to a team playing against Manchester United.

They can come in and try to defend all they want, but we're going to dominate this one. I can feel it.

I don't think LvG will make a lot of changes as we are playing so few games that it wouldn't heard to try and really use this extra game to build on the performance today.

I agree. I think he wants the match rythum for his players and it's still a healthy 5 days until West Ham.

Also, it's imperitive we take this competition seriously, considering the chance we have of winning it.

Exactly, we need to try and get a stable core playing regularly to gel the team. I'm hoping if he does make changes it's only a couple, players like Rojo, Blind, Januzaj, Di Maria and Shaw all need to keep their momentum

Agreed, the competition is bigger than usual for us this year and it would be a huge boost for the club with our new manager and several new players to win a trophy straight away.

Not really, if he is scared of Cambridge, god only knows what will happen when we come up against cup kings Sheffield United.

Hard to decide now... I wouldn't be surprised to see Januzaj given another start and Wilson play, but I'd like quite a bit of continuity if possible!

    de Gea
    Rafael Jones Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera Di Maria
    Januzaj
    Wilson Falcao
    ---
Valdes; Smalling, Valencia; Fletcher, Fellaini, Mata; van Persie

Probably something like this... Give Herrera a game, get Rafael back to some fitness. Wilson should be given games like this at home and I think Falcao needs to keep playing (van Persie is fresh from injury still pretty much, while Rooney will be required for the tougher West Ham fixture).

With West Ham next away, I think that's where we'll see Fellaini start again, but if LvG is worried about Cambridge's height, then he may throw him in over Januzaj to combat them on set-pieces.

I'd probably hope to bring on Smalling, Fellaini, and van Persie in the second half for fitness/height/physicality and to kill the game if we can establish a good lead like we did against Leicester.
