Real Club Celta de Vigo, usually known as Celta Vigo or sometimes just Celta (and nicknamed Os Celestes - The Sky Blues, or Célticos) is a Spanish professional football club based in Vigo, Galicia - playing in La Liga. Celta Vigo was formed as a result of the ambition of Vigo's teams to achieve more at national level, where the Basque sides had been their bête noire in the Spanish Championship. The idea was to merge Real Vigo Sporting and Real Fortuna Football Club to create a more powerful team at national level.

Celta have never won the league title nor Copa del Rey, although they have reached the final three times in the latter. One of the team's best seasons was 1970/71, when they finished unbeaten at home and were known as the "giant-killers". Celta came sixth that season and qualified for the UEFA Cup for the first time. The club finished in their best-ever position of fourth in 2002/03, qualifying for the 2003/04 Champions League, where they were eliminated by Arsenal in the Round of 16. The club's home stadium is Balaídos, which seats 29,000 spectators. Celta's name is derived from the Celts who were once present in the region. Its main rival is fellow Galician club Deportivo de La Coruña, with whom it contests the Galician Derby.

Maybe Mata in for Mkhitaryan but easy pick for the team.

So will Pogba miss the final if he gets booked in this?

Jose will have no excuses if he doesn't get CL football next season at United next season. Hopefully United win the Europa. All eggs and all that...

This is where it's at! I wasn't excited for the game at all today. Hard to get excited when we continuously feck up our league games. Besides this is a trophy that we've never won!

Anyway we need a measured performance with and early goal to put the tie to bed!

    Mata

We'll win this IMO, perfect home record in cup competitions this season with our best players well rested and with rubbish like Smalling and Rooney hopefully staying well away from the first team we should be fine. Looking forward to this one, we have a foot in the door of the final already, let's have a good showing and remind our players how good a European final can be.

All our baskets are in one egg now so we need to get through this and then focus on the final

    1-1 thrashing on the cards.

Rashford to score, then we concede in the mid second half and then nervously see out the game.

I expect a comfortable, swashbuckling performance now after resting players today for the greater good. In reality though we'll still get a timid, bullshit home performance.

This would be my team too. But I fear Jose might play Smalling at CB with Blind moving to LB.

Playing away to Malaga at 7:45 tonight on Sky Sports.

Reckon we'll recognise a single player?

Not holding my breath for this one given how we have played today.
Yes because the team we saw today is the one we'll see on Thursday........

There'll be at a minimum 8 changes to the Starting XI

    Rashford for Martial
    Pogba for Carrick
    Bailly for Smalling
    Valenica for Tuanzebe
    Blind for Jones
    Lingard for Rooney
    Romero for De Gea
Fellaini for either Mata or Mkhitaryan

Ajax's last league game is on 14th May. Ours is on the 21st so they'll have a week's more rest than us. Mourinho said he'd likely play a weak side against Palace but can see that being extended to include Southampton and possibly Spurs too.

If we advance the team we saw today is likely the team we'll see in the next 3 league matches. Although against Palace I think we'll see the likes of Herrera, Darmian, Mkhitaryan (or Mata), Pogba, Bailly, Blind, Valenica, Rashford not even in the squad.

Sometimes too much of break is not good either. Breaks momentum. I would want majority of starters to play vs Soton and rested vs Spurs and Palace.

Need to get job done vs Celta first. Hopefully team would put today's defeat behind them quickly and stay focused.

Hope we field a strong side against Soton to keep them sharp enough. Banking on us reaching the final now..

The first of two cup finals as far as I'm concerned. Mourinho has a fair selection of players to choose a very strong team. Win this then our eyes should light up for the last game.
