Agreed. Was suprised to see Vidic on the team sheet today which means we were most likely going to keep a clean sheet. With him back, Chelsea will have extreme difficulty to score.

I suspect SAF kept Anderson out of the last few games so that Chelsea have not much information about him. Anderson might join in the fray in the second half and suprise Chelsea. Definitely looking foward to this one.

Then hycool created this thread and I deleted mine.

This is wank.
Redcafe is the biggest Manchester United forum on the internet and a special occation like the bloody Champions League final should have a proper matchday thread.
I mean for fecks sake, it should involve more work than just typing the names of the clubs involved and posting their crests.

How the teams got there, previous meetings, possible line-ups, their CL history and so on..
The mods should nominate someone who's proven to be a good poster and willing to put time and effort to it.

Anyone here agree?

at the altar of ryan giggs
with saha being on the bench today, it seems that our WHOLE squad is fit. probably for the first time this season.

that said, this is how i think we will line up:

VDS
Brown
Rio
Vidic
Evra
hargreaves
carrick
scholes
ronaldo
tevez
rooney.

Bench: Kuzza, Giggs, Saha, either fletch or o'shea, tweety, park, anderson or nani

now that we have a fully fit squad, picking the bench was the toughest to do.

the backfour picks itself along with the keeper. Scholes and carrick must start, and hargreaves has been used sparingly and should be fresh and fit to track ballack/lampard properly.

upfront, ronaldo and rooney are musts and tevez thrives on these kinds of matches.

on the bench is where things get hazy. kuzza and giggs are dead certs.

if saha is fit, he WILL be on the bench since he is the only striker option we have. he made the bench this week, and i am surprised he wasn't given a 5 min runout after 2-0. but if he is fit, ferguson will have him as an option, no question about it.

the rest of the four spaces are really up for grabs. tweety i think will get one since he can cover for evra the best and can slot into the CB position if needed.

the other two spots are a tossup and i have no clue. two out of fletch, o'shea, park, nani, and anderson will be picked. i have a feeling that o'shea is safe due to his versatility so he'll get in.

It would be sad to see park not make the bench after coming up huge in our qf's and semi's...but chelsea are a different proposition. Park is better suited against european sides. CHelsea just has too much power and pace for park to be effective against IMO.

fletch does well against chelsea so maybe he'll be the one that gets picked. then again, if we need to chase a late goal or get some spark into our side, nani and anderson are much better options than fletch.

argh, selection headache at its finest.

I have a feeling that Fergie is going to go with Anderson and Hargreaves in midfield with one other. I thought we were over-ran by Chelsea, especially Essien last time and maybe Scholes and Carrick playing together who are not the quickest is a liability. Seeing as though Scholes is guaranteed to start Carrick could miss out, even though he has been great.
