Club Brugge Koninklijke Voetbalvereniging, commonly referred to as just Club Brugge, and nicknamed Blauw-Zwart (Blue-Black) or FCB, is a football club based in Bruges in Belgium. The history of the club kicks off in 1891, the year that is earmarked as the founding year of the club. The first club was named Brugsche Footbal Club. In 1895, the national athletics sports union was founded, predecessor of the later national football association, under the name UBSSA (Union Belge des Sociétés de Sports Athlétiques); Brugsche FC was a founding member of the UBSSSA and as such took part in the first ever league campaign organized in Belgian football during the 1895/96 season.

One of the most decorated clubs in Belgian football, the club have been crowned Belgian league champions 15 times, second only to major rivals Anderlecht. Club Brugge has also enjoyed much European football success, reaching two European finals and two European semi-finals. Club Brugge is the only Belgian club to have played the final of the European Cup so far, losing to Liverpool in the final of the 1978 season. They also lost in the 1976 UEFA Cup Final to the same opponents. Club Brugge holds the European record number of consecutive participations in the UEFA Europa League (20), the record number of Belgian Cups (11). and the record number of Belgian Super Cups (15).

The club enjoyed their most success under legendary Austrian manager Ernst Happel as he led the club to three straight league championships from 1975/76 to 1977/78 and a Belgian Cup victory in 1976/77. Like many historic clubs, Club Brugge contests rivalries with other Belgian clubs, whether at local (Cercle Brugge) or regional level (Gent and Antwerp) or nationally competitive (Anderlecht and Standard Liège), and it shares the Jan Breydel Stadium with city rival Cercle Brugge, with whom they contest the Bruges derby.

    Romero
    AWB - Bailly - Maguire - Williams
    McTominay - Fred
    Greenwood - Bruno - James
    Ighalo

Some rotation but not too major. Need to keep the momentum.

The first time Ighalo starts a game, he will score for sure. I'll be lumping £25 on him when that happens. No knocks or injuries from the Watford game, some rotation and a chance for rest and we should smash them. Another 3 or 4 to nil incoming.

This is the one game we can rest Maguire. Otherwise, line up a strong team and rest players when the win is secured.

    ...................... De Gea

    Bissaka - Lindeløf - Bailly - Williams

    ............. McTominay - Fred

    Greenwood - Fernandes - James

    ....................Martial

    Fred McTominay Bruno
    Mata Ighalo Martial

Have to be mindful of Everton away on Sunday, but I'd still rotate fullbacks and keep Martial and Bruno in. Don't really have a backup for Fred so he should probably start and then rest him in the 2and half once we're good.

What about this lineup ? Replacing Martial with James once Match is under control.

I don't think we can afford not to rotate the squad from now on until the end of season, I would personally prioritise in getting the top 5 over the Europe League since this gives us a much better chance of qualifying for the CL next season

    Romero
    Dalot Bailly Maguire Williams
    McTominay Matic Andres
    Mata Ighalo James

Not sure its wise to start McT so soon. Let him build up his fitness and confidence. Bring him on for 30 mins or for full 2nd half.

    Romero
    Dalot Lindelof Bailly Williams
    Matic Andreas Bruno
    Mata Igalo Greenwood

Swap McT for Matic at half time. Hopefully we are 2-0 up and Lingard can replace Bruno. Maybe give Gomes a run out too.
Keep Martial, Fred and James on bench in case we need some urgency.

Romero certainly, would give Dalot another go, would start Matic and then bring McTominay on later, no need to rush him back in. Would love to see Gomes involved, I just do not understand why he doesn't get the opportunity when Lingard is just not providing anything to the team. If Lingard, Mata and Pereira start then I'm just bemused. Ighalo to get his first start, with either Martial or Greenwood alongside, the other on the bench. 4 - 3 - 1 - 2. Romero, Dalot, Baillie, Maguire, Williams. Fernandes, Matic, Fred. Gomes. Greenwood, Ighalo. Bishop, Lindelof, Shaw, Mata, Pereira, Martial, Chong. Matic to hold midfield, with Dalot and Williams pushing forward, Gomes to play in the space, would love to see Bruno, Gomes, Greenwood triangle, and see how that pans out. Three quick thinking and quick reacting players together.

Need to start with a strong XI and try to put game to bed by 60-70 min which will give opportunity to rest likes of Martial and Bruno.

100%. EL is more important than the FA cup. Rest players against Derby instead, and then there will be one week between City and Tottenham.

I think this will be similar to today - very dull for long spells, a couple of moments of individual brilliance and a comfortable win.

We will win this pretty comfortably.

They were shot by 75 minutes and that was at home

Keep the funky diamond formation, 3-5-2. Might end up missing Young for this one, but hopefully Dalot will look better with 90 min of competitive football in his legs.

Attending this game, I would hope Ole has the sense not to play Pereira, Lingard either way I'm expecting United to progress but won't be surprised if its a nervy win like it was v Anderlecht in 2017.

    Team should be...

    ----------------Romero----------------
    Dalot--Bailly--Maguire--Williams
    McTominay-------Matic-------
    -------------------Mata-------------------
    Greenwood---------Andreas
    -----------------Martial-----------------

Subs: De Gea, AWB, Jones, Fred, Fernandes, Chong, Ighalo

I guess we're going with Romero in the EL so have him in there, feel a little sick picking Andreas but bigger picture says Fernandes should be kept for the Everton game

If we go through here then the first leg of the next round is between City and Spurs.

Unfortunately we are gonna have a changed line up. Think it’s vital we stay fresh for Everton. We’ll get the job done, just won’t be pretty

    Romero

    AWB
    Bailly
    Maguire
    Williams

    McTominay
    Fred (subbed off if winning)
    Bruno (subbed if winning)

    Mata
Martial (subbed for Ighalo if winning)
    Lingard

Start with the strongest team possible, Everton is Sunday's problem.

While I don't think we'll win the tournament, I don't want to take any risk of going out at this stage. Plus probably won't win at Goodison either, so let's not compound that by messing this one up as well.

McT in for Fred for an hour.
Rest Greenwood as I'd start him against Everton.
    Ighalo for Martial.
Rotate the full backs and Maguire for Bailly.

    Romero
    Dalot Lindelof Bailly Williams
    McT Matic
    Mata Fernandes James
    Ighalo

Should be enough to get us over the line

Should be going with basically the same team that beat Watford, IMO. Maybe 3-4 changes at most, one of them being Romero.

    Romero
    Wan-Bissaka Bailly Maguire Williams
    McTominay Fred
    Bruno
    Greenwood Martial James

We need the momentum so I'd be hoping we maybe even stick with the same team entirely bar Romero in for de Gea as usual in the cups. The current best forward line needs to start, but I think we can give Bailly another game and let McTominay have a start to get up to fitness, especially as Matic has played a lot. Williams or Shaw is a toss-up, but I've been impressed with Shaw lately so I think he could do with a game off and start the league games. Brugge will play on the counter, so I can see the pace of Bailly being useful against Denis. Andreas/Lingard/Mata really shouldn't be starting, but a couple of them coming off the bench is fine if we've won the game already.

There is negligible rest between this one and the Everton game, so I guess we'll have to rotate.

Maybe Williams in for shaw, Mctominay for matic, Ighalo for martial.

What we should do is start with a strong team, win the game, then take of key players, such as Martial, Bruno, Fred.

What we will do is play Lingard & Andres, then have to bring on the above 3 for the last 20 minutes to try and win the game.

May sound cynical, but this is the way all football managers play, time after time.
