Crystal Palace Football Club (nicknamed CPFC, The Glaziers and The Eagles) are a professional football club based in South Norwood, London. Crystal Palace were founded in 1905 at the site of the famous Crystal Palace Exhibition building by the owners of the FA Cup Final stadium, who wanted their own team to play at the historic venue. When Crystal Palace were founded, they turned to one of the biggest clubs in the country at the time, Aston Villa, to seek advice. Villa helped the club in a number of ways, not least by donating their kit. As a result, Palace's colors were originally claret and blue shirts paired with white shorts, socks tending to be claret. They kept to this formula fairly consistently until 1938.

The club initially played their home games at the FA Cup Final stadium which was situated inside the grounds of The Crystal Palace, but the First World War saw them forced to move out, and they enjoyed a number of seasons at both the Herne Hill Velodrome and The Nest. Although Crystal Palace have never won a major trophy, they have played in the First Division for the majority of their existence, finishing 3rd once, and losing the 1990 FA Cup Final to Manchester United. Crystal Palace play their homes games at Selhurst Park, and share sporting rivalries with South London neighbors Milwall, former tenants Charlton, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Fred or Sabitzer? Million dollar question.
It’ll be Fred. Erik likes to ease people in where he can. It’ll be weeks until Sabitzer is in for the final few games.

Harsh on Fred after tonight but I’d start Sabitzer. We need him up to speed of playing with us fast.

It wasn’t completely obvious. He did ease Casemiro in.
I mean I suggested it would be weeks until we play a loan player for the last few games. If that’s not obvious…

Will surely be Fred, I think eventually Sabitzer will be the starter but not even Casemiro arrived as first option so I think Sabitzer will be eased in.

@Niall We need Sabitzer. McNeill, Shoretire, Tuanzebe and Kovar are all gone on loan. Beek is out for the season so may as well remove him too.

I obviously want Martial to start but is he fit enough to be in from the beginning? Also, there's no chance Sabitzer starts this one, he's not had many games recently so I suspect he will come off the bench too. The only real major question is whether Martial is deemed fit enough to start but think Weghorst will get the nod on the weekend and Martial midweek.

PS - WHERE IS DALOT? WHAT'S HIS INJURY?

Palace dominated us at Selhurst and were unlucky to draw. They’ll get the job done this time. Zaha will be man of the match and it’ll be 0-1 to Palace

I don't really see there being anything other than this as the starting XI. Sub on Martial & Sancho regardless of whether we are chasing a winner or are comfortably ahead (and everything in-between).

Get Sabitzer his first appearance, then the other two subs are more about who else needs time on the pitch. Eg. Dalot and McTominay certainly would if they're available, if not maybe Malacia subbed on for either full back.

Two games against Leeds after this, I'd imagine at some point Martial, Sabitzer, Malacia, maybe Sancho, Dalot, Lindelof and McTominay would get a start as well.

Think only dilemma is who starts between Weghorst and Martial. Sabitzer to come on around 65-70th minute.

    Sabitzer's debut from the start?
Not for the first time, I think the visa situation is gonna throw a spanner in the works. He won’t even train with the group until that has been granted. Otherwise, I think we saw enough in the first half tonight to be confident that he’d be straight in. Fred doesn’t have the game when you want to break teams down at home. There’s a reason why Eriksen started virtually every match.
