Hope we have a few back for this.Knowing our luck though we'll probably end up with more injuries.

Hopefully today really kickstarts our season and gives us the belief to go on a run. We just need some players back from injury.

    De Gea
    Rafael Smalling McNair Shaw?
    Carrick
    Herrera Fellaini
    Di Maria Rooney Januzaj/Mata

The front 3 with a free role like they had today, neither Di Maria nor Januzaj/Mata as proper wingers but just roaming around. Van Persie needs to be dropped.
If Rafael is still out then Valencia comes in, no problem with that as he's done well this season. Probably a 3-5-2 if Shaw is out for a while though as we have nobody else. And I really don't like seeing Blackett playing so no him.

Would be very happy to see that team.

Think that could work? Think LVG is determined for Rooney to play the AM position though so that would mean dropping Mata for RVP.

Looks good, although Di Maria may be a bit wasted if he's too high.

Obviously I'd prefer Wilson or Falcao to RVP but realistically this is what I hope we go for. Back to the diamond and back to some attacking intent.

We should smash them I reckon 4:0 for us with Falcao or RVP or Rooney scoring hattrick.

I hope the 3-4-3 of today will feck off for this one but I'm guessing Shaw will be out so it doesn't leave us with much else does it?

Want to see a proper team, a proper formation, and a good performance. The players are more than capable of excellent football, LVG just has to put the right ones on the pitch.

    DDG
    Rafa Smalling McNair Shaw
    Carrick
    Herrera Di Maria
    Mata
    Rooney Wilson

    - If Shaw's injured, play someone else in his spot - don't bizarrely revert to three at the back.
    - Fellaini's impact in a couple of matches has earned him more game-time than he actually deserves. He's useful in specific situations, but shouldn't be a default starter; leave that to a proper midfielder like Herrera.
    - Di Maria must play as a midfielder. Obviously.
    - Rooney needs to be up front, and RVP deserves to be benched with a cherry on top.

Next game I would try a 4321 (christmas tree) formation. Herrera and Di Maria back in central midfield with Mata and Januzaj playing behind Rooney.

    De Gea

    Rafael - Smalling - McNair - Shaw

Herrera - Carrick - Di Maria

    Mata - Januzaj

    Rooney

LVG's Holland 3-5-2 at the world cup had Robben off of RVP I wonder if Di Maria could do that off of Rooney? Maybe this then against Hull?

    --------------De Gea--------------
    ---McNair---Smalling---Blackett---
    Valencia--Fellaini--Carrick--Young
    ---------------Mata---------------
    -------------Di Maria-------------
    --------------Rooney--------------

I expect us to dominate possession so Fellaini wouldn't be ideal in this match but he doesn't deserve to get dropped.

Need to stretch the pitch and need pace and incisiveness in the middle from Herrera. I don't think our defence is strong enough at the moment to play the diamond formation to be honest.

Mata in for Fellaini would be my preference but I can't see that happening.

Can't see Fellaini playing with Stoke only a few days later.

Time to drop Persie and play Wilson. A 4-3-3 with Rooney,Di Maria,Wilson and Januzaj/Young going forward. Hopefully Herrera back in midfield next to Carrick even if Fellaini has been ok. Mcnair and Smalling central defense and hopefully some fullbacks can return soon or Valencia take right and someoen else left back.

Not so optimistic about Shaw returning to fitness.

I want us to go like:

    DDG
    McNAIR-----SMALLING-----BLACKETT
    VALENCIA------------------------------------YOUNG
    HERRERA------------FELLAINI
    ROONEY
    WILSON----------DI MARIA

Do people not realise we play Stoke 3 days later? I expect a few players to be rested (rotated).

I think this game is one of the most important games for United so far. We have two wins in a row and if we will win that one we will start building a momentum. Two home games are the golden opportunity to do that and we have to win both.

If we will win this one and next one we will go to Southampton full of confidence and if our luck with injuries gets better we will have most players back.

It is really golden opportunity to buid momentum and some kind of form before Southampton Liverpool game.

I hope Falcao and Rafael are back. We need them. And i hope Shaw injury is not as bad as it looked like.

I'm not being ominous but I just feel like we are going to lose this one. This happened last year when we thought that win against the Arsenal will kick start our season but we dropped points in the next 4 matches against Cardiff, Spurs, Everton and Newcastle

I'm more interested in our formation than the personnel. The latter depends largely on the injuries and a lot could change there in a week. The formation choice would be interesting though.

I really hope James Wilson starts ahead of Robin van Persie against Hull, he deserves a start and last season against the same opposition showed how good he could be.
