Linzer Athletik-Sport-Klub, commonly known as Linzer ASK or simply LASK and nicknamed Die Schwarz-Weißen (The Black-Whites), is an Austrian association football club, from the Upper-Austrian state capital Linz. It is the oldest football club hailing from that region, and plays in the Austrian Football Bundesliga, the top tier of Austrian football.

The club was founded in the winter of 1908, when Albert Siems, head of the royal post-office garage at Linz, who had already been a member of an 1899-founded club for heavy athletics, Linzer Athletik Sportklub Siegfried, decided to establish a football club. LASK achieved its greatest success, in winning the Austrian League in 1965. No club outside Vienna had ever won before. Additionally, the club won the domestic cup that same year. In 1995, the official name became LASK Linz, as officials wanted to bring out the city's name as a complement to the LASK designation, which had constituted itself as a brand name.

LASK's biggest rivals are cross-city club FC Blau-Weiß Linz (against whom they contest the Linz Derby). They play their home games at the Raiffeisen Arena (Waldstadion) or Linzer Stadion for UEFA competitions.

Rest for 3 days.. come back.. rest some more. play the reserves in this game..

Wouldnt mind if we let the second string play this tournament.. There wont be much rest before the league starts again.. I dont want the same XI players to play non stop.

Rotate heavily. Let some of the highly rated youngsters get some playtime. Starters to come on as impact subs, if needed.

We are looking at a shorter recovery/summer camp time, so we need to protect the players.

Put the bench and some teenyboppers in for this one for the love of god, then back to near full strength for the quarter final.

Let the kids have a run out. Everyone else can just relax. I suppose Lingard, Ighalo, Chong, James, Pereira, McTominay, Mata, and Fred can actually play this one if they're keen for a game.

We don't need to play any of the big players for this. Let them rest.

Wouldn’t have a single starting 11 player in this. Send the main squad on a break. Likewise anyone we are trying to move on shouldn’t be involved.

    Romero
    Laird - Bailly - Mengi - Fosu-Mensah
    Garner
    McTominay - Fred
    Chong - Ighalo - James

Could play Greenwood as well for at least 45 mins.

The key players could get a full week off. Quarter finals on the 10th of August.

Nothing too stupid here. Rest those who would benefit from an extended break and play those who would benefit from playing at least part of the game. We won’t win the Europa playing the same XI in the quarters, semi and final, so we need some others to find some confidence.

I hope Laird starts. Never seen him play myself but from what I’ve read, he’s rated highly.

Great chance to rest the 11 that have started all these PL games.

Rooting for Olympiacos to do a job on Wolves. I'm sick to death of playing that team this season.

    Give the first 11 a week's rest.
Play the bench players and the kids to get them match sharp.
Players like McTominay, Fred, James, Ighalo need minutes badly before we fly out to Germany.

We need to rotate our players properly during this tournament as next season starts in no time. I would like us to win the trophy, but not at the expense of injuries and fatigue to key players.

Play the reserve in this one. Full strength for the rest.
New season 12th September. Think we have shown fatigue this year? Seen nothing yet. Next year is going to be brutal.

Play the kids. We've already got CL football.

I just want to see James Garner playing a Bruno's role, James and Chong playing as traditional wingers.

Mate CL is all good but there's no way we are winning it. Neither the PL. This is the chance for a tropyhy.

Rest the first 11 because they need it and have earned it with their form.

Want to see a couple of kids in the squad.

No. Where's the ambition to win trophies? It's 3 games.
There's a new season starting on 12th September. I'm worried about major burnout. We have looked leggy as hell this run in haven't we? Next year will be worse.
