No way a club like utd can go in to a season with that midfield. That's very weak.
To be honest it makes a lot of sense for Shoretire and Fernandez to go on loan. Both are in positions where we're absolutely stacked currently. Suspect that Williams and Jones staying behind is code for them leaving shortly, along with Perreira
The state of our midfield options... Even the club know we're short of numbers there - including Amad and Pellistri, yet the other wingers are classed as forwards.
Would liked to have seen Mainoo in the squad. Also, where is Shoretire?
Our squad is absolutely terrible if you look at that. And only Ronaldo is missing.....
thought the same myself. The other worrying thing is the strongest area of pur squad is probably our defence.... which in itself is concerning.
Agreed, looks awful... It's what happens though when you lose 7 (including Greenwood) players and only bring in Malacia.
Should look better once we hopefully add Martinez, Eriksen, De Jong, new forward (Antony).
Would have liked to see Bernard/Mengi and Galbraith on the plane. Other than that, no complaints really but our squad needs some new midfielders/attackers ASAP.

That's a shocking midfield and attack. Not a hope of us getting top 4 without 4/5 more signings.
Yeah its really poor. We've not replaced a single player that left on a free out of Pogba, Mata, matic, cavani, lingard.
Cavani, Pogba, Ronaldo, Matic and Greenwood.
Maybe not all MVPs but their leaving is making the squad look worse with obvious holes in it whether people admit it or not.

We do usually take a higher class of retired player to be fair.
Just said in the ten Hag thread, it's painfully average and very light in quality, especially in the midfield and forward positions.
While I agree this is well below the standard we need, in midfield we aren't that much weaker than last season considering Matic could only play once per week and Pogba was in and out of the team for various reasons. We are still in need of two CMs in my opinion though.
Even though Martial and Rashford have proved they can score in the past I'm a little worried about this after their form last season. If they regain form and confidence they could be good for us but I'm really worried where the goals will come from without Ronaldo

It doesn’t matter what the squad looks like on paper.
Greenwood left mid last season, Ronaldo is still here for what its worth.
No reason why our youngsters wouldn’t be able to contribute more than the players that left did last season, comfortably too.
Mata, Cavani, Pogba, Matic, contributed next to feck all last season.
Why is Fred not in the squad?
