Liverpool Football Club (nicknamed The Reds) are an English professional football club based in Liverpool, England. Liverpool were originally founded in 1892 as "Everton F.C. and Athletic Grounds Ltd" (Everton Athletic for short), before finalizing on the name Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Ltd. after a dispute between the Everton FC board and John Houlding, the owner of Everton's former premise at Anfield Road.

Liverpool's forays into competitive football started when they joined the Lancashire League. After winning the league title in their first season, Liverpool were accepted into the Football League for the 1893-94 season, following the resignations of Accrington and Bootle. Liverpool reached its first FA Cup Final in 1914, losing 1–0 to Burnley. It won consecutive League championships in 1922 and 1923, but did not win another trophy until the 1946–47 season, when the club won the First Division for a fifth time under the control of ex-West Ham Utd centre half George Kay.

One of the most successful and storied clubs in the history of European football, Liverpool have won 19 English league titles, 6 European Cups, 7 FA Cups, and 8 League Cups, peaking in the 1970s and 1980s, first under the enigmatic Bill Shankly, and then his Boot Room successors. Liverpool have two fierce historic rivals: crosstown club Everton FC (matches between them are termed The Merseyside Derby), and Manchester United (stemming from the success of both teams as well as the cities' competition in the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century).

Nine games against the Big 6 without a non-penalty goal. I wish I could see us scoring. Think our likely chance of advancing will be for it to go the distance and be a tight 0-0 that goes to extra time, although our defence always seems to have an error in it. Liverpool to win to nil.

A full first XI will play this one, especially as the midweek PL doesn’t demand the same sort of team. The only surprise I could forsee is Bruno being “rested” to allow Ole a bit more scope to do something different in these games.

On the one hand it's a trophy, on the other hand feck, these games are piling up thick and fast. Think both teams will rotate. Tiredness and potential injuries are a concern.

For God's sake, play Van de Beek and give Bruno a rest. He's running on fumes.

How seriously will Liverpool take this game?

Go with best side and hope Liverpool do not!
Then rotate a bit vs Sheffield.

Maguire, Bruno, AWB, De Gea can play all games though.

Big game of course. Some will say just the FA cup, and there's a chance they won't be as motivated. Getting a win here would be absolutely huge for us IMO.

    Henderson
    Wan Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    Matic Fred
    Rashford Bruno Pogba

No way I can predict the XI for this, but I do think Henderson, McTominay and Rashford will return to the starting like up, maybe Lindelof too.

I'd really like to see Van de Beek given a start like most of us, but right now I'd probably have that at a 50/50.

    Maybe something like this:

    Henderson
    Wan-Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    Matic
    McTominay Pogba
    Bruno
    Martial Rashford

A rested Rashford on the left against TAA is important. He has TAA's number and we missed a trick there in the Anfield game to exploit his poor form.

I'd rotate a lot here. Liverpool have a days less rest before this and have a crucial game vs Spurs after so I think they'll rotate a lot also.

    Henderson
    Bissaka - Lindelof - Maguire - Telles
    McTominay - Matic
    VDB
    Mata - Rashford - Lingard/James

Don’t care about the FA cup this year
    We can’t win Semifinals anyway
Let’s concentrate on the League and maybe the Europa league

If Donny doesn't start he really has every right to turn up to Ole's office the next morning and start asking questions

I’m not really ok with feck the cup , at the end of the day it’s Liverpool
Go strong but I’d give Bruno a rest . Need to knock these cnuts out and we will never have a better opportunity with their injuries

Would prefer see us play an attacking set up in a big game and not worry about result. Any lesson learned could serve us well later in season. Would take a loss here for 9 points from next 3 on league.

Can others stop talking about a big 6 when there is no such thing.

The best six this season are Man United, Man City, Leicester,Liverpool, Spurs, Everton and the league table does not lie.

United have lost once against those 4 teams. 2 of those games as expected when the best teams fare off against each other was close competitive contests and this FA Cup tie will be no different and a penalty shootout required to win a winner on Sunday will not surprise me.

I’m not getting all this. The Christmas period has passed now. We have been playing every 5 days or so since then, and Bruno rested against Watford. This was asked this week and confirmed again that he is not tired.

Don't care about this one really, throw a full B team and let the starters rest. Full power to the league.

People putting the full reserves as a team are insane and Ole won’t do that, rightly so.

It’s fecking Liverpool in the cup, let’s do them, strong team with 2 or 3 rested.
