Liverpool Football Club (nicknamed The Reds) are an English professional football club based in Liverpool, England. Liverpool were originally founded in 1892 as "Everton F.C. and Athletic Grounds Ltd" (Everton Athletic for short), before finalizing on the name Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Ltd. after a dispute between the Everton FC board and John Houlding, the owner of Everton's former premise at Anfield Road.

Liverpool's forays into competitive football started when they joined the Lancashire League. After winning the league title in their first season, Liverpool were accepted into the Football League for the 1893-94 season, following the resignations of Accrington and Bootle. Liverpool reached its first FA Cup Final in 1914, losing 1–0 to Burnley. It won consecutive League championships in 1922 and 1923, but did not win another trophy until the 1946–47 season, when the club won the First Division for a fifth time under the control of ex-West Ham Utd centre half George Kay.

One of the most successful and storied clubs in the history of European football, Liverpool have won 19 English league titles, 6 European Cups, 7 FA Cups, and 8 League Cups, peaking in the 1970s and 1980s, first under the enigmatic Bill Shankly, and then his Boot Room successors Bob Pailsey, Joe Fagan and Kenny Dalglish. Liverpool have two fierce historic rivals: crosstown club Everton FC (matches between them are termed The Merseyside Derby), and Manchester United (stemming from the success of both teams as well as the cities' competition in the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century).

If they bring their shooting boots the record PL win will be broken.

Why can’t we predict more than 5 goals scored?

It doesn't matter who we start, they're all terrible. Liverpool will destroy us. We're going to lose our first 3 games of the season. Can't ever remember that happening before.

It's difficult to pick a lineup because I can't really find 11 players that deserve to wear the badge

Maybe with some luck we can buy like 5 new players on Monday and they'll be able to play in this one

Either way Liverpool will win. I just hope we can score at goal at some point this month.

Hopefully Varane and Malacia start. Think he may put Lisandro in the midfield.

Is Martial back, really hope so. Regardless we are getting fecking battered.

I don't know exactly what will happen on the night of this game, but I think football itself might end up being secondary news to something else.

You never know in a derby, but let's be honest: it's going to be a fecking bloodbath if they bother turning up at all.

interesting to see how Klopp will approach this. He could decide the team and tactics with a dice. Just for shits and giggles play Vvd as a striker? He could give a bunch of younger players 90 min to give them some confidence. Or maybe go full strength and break records

Reckon we'll have De Jong by then with Neymar scoring a hattrick on his debut.

Liverpool won’t ease up like they did last season. It’s going to be nasty

I dunno. De Gea shouldn't be here but we have no other keeper. I'd drop Sancho if we had someone worth playing but we don't. I'd drop Fred if we had someone worth playing but we don't. I'd put Martial in if he was fit but he's not. I'd drop Dalot if we had someone worth playing but we don't.

Hope we don't get smashed? If we manage to battle out a draw it might be a little mental lift to start our season though. Need a big week transfer wise, but that's obviously not going to happen.

    Squad doesn't matter. 0-7
You know what? Scratch that. Squad doesn't matter. Result doesn't matter. What matters is if this game even takes place. If the fans don't band together after this and make a stand then we are finished anyway.

Needs to be a full-on riot against the Glazers

That’s where we’re at at this moment.

Football needs to take a back seat

I remember watching a tv show, I think it was an episode of the Twilight Zone, and a guy either found or invented a stop watch and when he pressed it, time would stop completely for everyone except him.

One day, a world ending nuclear attack comes and he stops time knowing that if he ever starts time again, everyone, including himself dies.

I wish I could swap places with that guy and never have this game happen.

Seriously, just abandon the game in advance. 3-0 for disqualification would be better than what the real score will be.
