Hopefully the same team but with Herrera over Januzaj. Adnan hasn't impressed me much in that role.

He's got to give the lad a runout sometime otherwise he will be as rusty as hell if we get injuries. I would have though Bastian will start. Chicha might get a start as well. Especially with the early start.

Hernandez did ok when he came on. Looks to have bulked up a bit too. Would be nice to see Herrera, but as long as Memphis can conjur that again i'd always fancy us to create something.

I think Schweinsteiger coming on at half time is a sign he is getting his fitness back and I expect him to start the game instead of Carrick.

    Romero
    Darmian Smalling Blind Shaw
    Schneiderlin BFS
    Herrera
    Januzaj Depay
    Hernandez

    Subs:
    Pereira
    Wazza
    Big Fella

IMO, our best team if DDG isn't to be selected. Mata hasn't done so well, and his passing can be replaced by Schweini's and Herrera's. Rooney's shit.

Much the same again, I doubt Bastian will be seen as fit enough to start, so I suspect Carrick plays again. Herrera is the man most likely to be getting frustrated, he's not looking likely of getting a start any time soon given the current system, Fellaini has just jumped ahead of him once Newcastle is out of the way.

Honestly hope Januzaj is benched. Hernandez or Herrera in.

I'll be disappointed (after tonight's attacking performance) if we don't put at least three past this lot.

We can't stop here. This is bat country.
    Romero
    Darmian Smalling blind Shaw
    Schneiderlin Schweinsteiger
    Mata Herrera Memphis
    Rooney
    Yes please.

Wouldn't be surprised (or entirely disappointed) if Januzaj keeps his place. Van Gaal seems to have faith in him.

I think LvG wants to have pace through the middle. Rooney doesn't offer it and playing a slower player (Mata or Herrera) behind him may make us a bit sluggish there.

Not sure about the Newcastle game but the idea that we could conceivably put out this team this season is

    ................De Gea

    Darmian Smalling Jones Shaw

    Schneiderlin Schweinsteiger
    ..............Herrera

    Pedro.....................Memphis
    ..............Rooney

Pedro chase seems to be going tits up. Even if we sign him before Friday, cant see him starting.

    Romero

    Darmian
    Smalling
    Blind
    Shaw

    Schweinsteiger
    Schneidelin
    Herrera

    Mata
    Memphis
    Rooney

Come on boys, let's make it 4 wins in a row and 3 in the PL!

Happy we're playing up first again, hopefully we can win and then sit back and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

We all need to just accept the notion that Herrera isn't going to start.

    I'd line up with:

    De Gea
    Darmian Smalling Blind Shaw
    Schneiderin Schweinsteiger Mata
    Young Rooney Memphis

    Romero
    Darmian--Smalling--Blind--Shaw
    Schneiderlin--Schweinsteiger
    Mata--Januzaj--Memphis
    Rooney

I wouldn't be surprised to see Rooney at number 10 and Hernandez up top but I wouldn't want that. Herrera won't start as LVG said he prefers to play a second striker behind the number 9 instead of a 'controlling midfielder'.

I am really unsure why LVG don't start Herrera at number 10. His goal tally last season was brilliant for a midfielder and his work rate was much better than Januzaj. His ball retention (which LVG emphasis a lot) is also one of the better ones in the squad.

Bastian's fitness is why I still have a feeling Carrick will start even though Bastian is in much better form.

I would give Rooney this last chance as a starter to score and turn his poor form around, if nothing of note gets produced by him against the'castle then I would drop him. Especially when Fellaini (whos scoring record looks good) and Hernandez are breathing down his neck.

    Team I would play -

Would like to see Herrera, Hernandez getting a run out. The defense pretty much is fine so a few tweaks here and there.

Hopefully we start Ander and sub Pereira on with ample time to make an impact.

Can't believe it, im sitting pretty at number 20 in the score prediction table. I predicted this one at 4-0 to United but its beginning to smell like a 4-1 all of a sudden.
