McTominay looks like he's got even less idea what he's doing on the pitch than I do.

Good. If he had missed there I would have been fuming!

It annoys me when Reading are allowed to pass it around the box and get a decent shot off which Romero saves. His reaction, to look tiresomely around and not utter a word. If I were him I'd be screaming at my defence, I'd be fecking livid.

Fair play to Sanchez when he doesn't overplay it he can really pick a pass.

    Half-time

We lead 2:0 at the break but in truth Reading have been the better side. They've enjoyed the majority of possession and created a number of good chances. Our make-shift defence definitely looks very ropey with Reading finding a lot of space in behind on more than one occassion.

We took our chances though while they haven't. First Mata's penalty and then Lukaku's late first-half goal.

Hopefully better to come from us in the second-half.

I'd be happy if I never saw a few of these players again. Namely McT, Sanchez, Darmian, Jones.

Young getting outdone by some of the most basic and predictable turning you'll ever see.

    And in our own box.

I have no problem with a disjointed performance. Did expect this.

But please find a way to score a couple of more goals. I really want to see Chong and Garner.
This. We’ve seen such performances plenty of times over the years. Struggle for fluidity but in the end the individual quality will shine through.

    As I type this - 2-0.

I know people think Fred is playing okay but given he's just cost us 50 million I expected far more than what looks a half decent squad player.
A few interceptions and couple threaded passes doesn’t make up for the amount of times he’s lost the ball. Hopefully it’s just an adjusting period for him.

On a different note, Sanchez and Lukaku doesn’t seem to have much chemistry - even though that was a great run, ball and finish.

Does Lukaku have a baby or lost one? His sucking thumb celebration?

    Class finish from Lukaku.

He is showing his worth if used properly.

He might not have skill or passing of Rashford, but as last man he is one of the best.

Come on. Darmian has actually played very well, and Sanchez, despite very limited supply, has been dangerous. Great throughball for Lukakus goal.

That was a good bit of CF play that. All about his run and a deft touch round the keeper.

Goes to show what he can do when the ball is played in front of him and he’s not being used incorrectly as a target man.

Some pathetic stuff out there. Still, cant complain too much being 2-0 up.

Sanchez and Lukaku were hopeless all half, then right at the end wonderful pass from Sanchez and a brilliant finish by Lukaku.

    Hopefully we improve 2nd half

Most of em have been dreadful however I am willing to give Sanchez the benefit of the doubt as it's his first game back and you can see he has the quality.
