We still need an experienced central defender. Don't think Keane is ready to start regularly just yet.
You'd imagine Smalling, Jones and Evans would be the ones starting regularly. But yeah with most of the back line being young you'd prefer a CB with experience, especially if we want to rotate in some of the u21s for the cup games.

Looking very good so far this preseason, really hope he can carry that into the season. Valencia has been decent too, not great but decent. I think they are both fairly well suited to play as wing backs, not the most creative but industrious and fairly pacey with some magic here and there.

??? in Van Gaal system he is supposed to play like a sweeper, he has a good distribution for a Goalkeeper but he doesn't play like a proper sweeper (Van Der Sar, Neuer or Valdes)
His distribution has been excellent for quite some time now. It's what he was getting praised for the most not long back. Even bringing it into question seems bizarre.
