Rochdale Association Football Club (nicknamed The Dale) is a professional football club based in the town of Rochdale, Greater Manchester — and currently competing in League One. The present Rochdale AFC was formed following a public meeting in the Central Schools Council, Fleece Street on May 14th, 1907. The club's first game, on September 3rd 1907, was a friendly against Second Division Oldham Athletic who, not surprisingly won 4-1.

Rochdale played 36 consecutive seasons in the Football League's bottom division from 1974 to 2010, the longest time any team has been in the bottom division of the League, with some even derisively calling it “the Rochdale Division”. The club has the lowest average position of all the clubs which have existed continuously in the Football League since its expansion to four divisions in 1921–22 (76th) and since its expansion to 92 clubs in 1950–51 (79th). Additionally, the club holds the distinction of having played the most seasons in the English Football League without either reaching the top two tiers (91 seasons as of 2018-19) or being relegated to the National League.

Rochdale main rivals are Bury and Oldham Athletic. Bury, after Oldham, are the closest Football League club to Rochdale, and the fixture is also known as the M66 Derby. Other significant rivalries have been with Halifax Town, Burnley, Stockport County, Wigan Athletic and Accrington Stanley. Rochdale play their home games at Spotland Stadium, also known as the Crown Oil Arena.

Will probably be similar to the Astana lineup with James/Lingard coming in for Rashford/Greenwood depending on their fitness.

Maybe chance of seeing Martial or Pogba if either have recovered.

If we play to our capacity we should be capable of taking it to penalties. From there it's anyone's game.

I'd be suprise if we score more than one. Who is going to score? James, Mata, Chong, Pereira, Lingard, Gomes, Greenwood? Atrocious.

At least the kids will be given a run, that will be good.
Indeed. Now when Rashy is injured though, we cant afford to have any injuries on the likes of Greenwood. Hopefully Martial will be ready for the next PL game so we can play him and James on the wings with Greenwood on top.

If you’re just suggesting playing a youth XI, then I’m entirely glad you aren’t responsible for managing this football club and bringing a talented generation through.

United need another win, need to get their attack meshing before next week, and need things to play for other than the league. Five days rest until the game after, so no need to look to rest players for that.

    ........... Romero
    Dalot Tuanzebe Jones Rojo
    ........ Fred Pogba
    ... Chong Gomes James
    .... Martial/Greenwood

If the kids do play, then we stand a better chance of winning.
If the "first" team play, then it could be a grinder. Possibly 1-0 or 1-1.
I trust the kids more, as they bring energy and youthful exuberance.

Not sure what we'll see here, I think it's time for Garner to get a game, Greenwood is unlikely to be well by Tuesday and really we need to save him for Arsenal as Rashford is out and there's no sign of a Martial return yet, so I guess James will have to play as a striker.

I think it’s an unfair insult to David Moyes that you compare our current style of play to that during his tenure.
