This final is going to be awful.. let’s hope Solanke gets injured just to make it an even contest.

Having Hojlund upfront is like playing with 10 men anyway.

Spurs are losing 2-0 at home and palace have an xg of 3.07. These two teams are incredibly bad

If we're honest, Ange should be sacked regardless of the final and under normal circumstances, Amorim should also be sacked regardless of the results. Both sides have been a disgrace in the PL.

Both teams have a very likely chance of finishing below 40 points with the games they have left (Chelsea and Villa for United, Spurs have Villa and Brighton) . I believe West Ham were relegated once with 42 points, both teams could literally have been relegated and one would be in the champions league next season.

Incredible really.

Losing to Spurs in a final should be a sackable offence.

This game is the only one that matters. Players don’t care about the league. They’re just practice matches now.

I just can't see us winning this game.
Low block, counter, hang on for dear life. That’s all this team has ever been good at in the last six or seven years. Seriously wouldn’t be against a set up like against City in the FA cup final last year or against Arsenal in the cup. Yes it’s Spurs we’re against but we’re just not very good.

I can't see us winning this with Dalot De Ligt and Yoro out injured.

Our back 5 on paper will be an embarrassment and we'll have no subs on the bench as they're all out injured.

Dalot and De Ligt still have an outside chance. But yeah this is the worry. I can see Maz starting at fullback if Dalot is still out and Dorgu on the left. So worst case scenario we’re looking at:

Maz Lindelof Maguire Shaw Dorgu

He could play Amad at RWB but I just don’t think he’ll trust him defensively.

The problem with De Ligt is even if he makes it, he's not played in months so he'd be patched up and miles off the pace.

Dalot maybe the same.

You just don't want their first game back to be starting a potentially 120 minute European final.

It's a disaster.

I'm going to be optimistic and say Yoro will be fit for the final.

Onana
Yoro - Maguire - Shaw
Mazraoui - Bruno - Casemiro - Dorgu
Amad - Mount - Garnacho

We can't play Hojlund. He's a detriment to the team.

I'd of liked Shaw at LWB over Dorgu but we are limited in options at CB.

Ugarte has been hopeless recently.

After the recent European performances I’ve felt ultra positive and then post every PL game I feel demoralised. Overall I’m worried now. We’ll get trashed at Chelsea and Hojlund is going to start and the injury to Yoro could lead to us being embarrassed.

I’m so sick of this season, but if we pull this off, there’s hope.

Start like we did in both semi finals and that's Slow give ball away etc etc, Spurs will score 2 piss easy goals and game over. This side folds like a cheap suit, got 2 reds in games that has given us a helping hand . I'm hoping we score early v Spurs then its a different game otherwise I can't see this lot getting better.

That's what I would start with.. Mainoo to come on later , I don't know if Collyer is going to be fit he's another one who does the basics well, he's option to come off bench as well. We're scraping the barrel for quality.

With Ange winning things in his 2nd season and everything, this will probably go their way. Working night shift so won't be able to watch 2nd half but that's probably better.

Could Dalot be ready for this game? There were rumours he could be back by the final.

After watching the highlights of Spurs/Palace I'm a lot more optimistic, we just need to attack them and not be scared. Spence is an awful LB defensively, switches off all the time, Amad can play right 10 or RWB and get behind him all game. Madisson being out is big, he wins so many fouls in good positions that would have put us under pressure. Porro looked like their main attacking threat just due to his engine, so Dorgu should match up well with him too.

Romero and VDV weren’t playing right? They’re far better defensively with them starting - not to say they aren’t still poor defensively - all Ange teams are out of possession - but I wouldn’t get too excited from watching them against Palace.

If we don’t play with more intensity than we have been in our league games all season we’ll lose, plain and simple. We get bullied by every team in the league. Spurs have been poor all season but it’s no coincidence they’ve beaten us 3 times.

Just hoping because it’s a final there’s a bit more aggressiveness about us. It shouldn’t take a final to bring that out of us but that’s where we are.

I'd say Ange is gone regardless of the result, whereas Amorim is safe.
Interesting bookie's odds :- Ange 4/1 and Ruben 33/1 to be sacked which probably says Ange is gone even if they win and we will stick with Ruben either way. The bookies usually have a really good insight of the expected outcomes !
To win the cup :- Spurs 7/4 and Utd 29/20 or 5.8/4 so nothing really in it - we are slight favourites with Paddy Power.

I still think we will turn up and win but I would still sack Ruben for his complete lack of flexibility and stubborn playing of his system which clearly does not suit our players and the premier league. Finishing bottom 4/5 is totally unacceptable.

I’m clinging to the hope the refs officiate like a European match so the lack of our physicality won’t hurt us as much as it does in the PL.

Same, they were really awful. As bad as we are, I genuinely think they're worse

Dorgu Casemiro Bruno Shaw
Amad Mount
Hojlund

Hard to see beyond the balance of this to be honest. De Ligt with the injury, don't think he'll get himself in form ahead of Maguire. Bit hard on Garnacho but it's him or Amad as we need one off the bench, so has to be Amad I think. Mounts energy will make up for leaving Ugarte out, but think we need Bruno in deeper just for that added control and creativity.
this...

Thinking about this game messes with my brain.

We're (mostly) pretty good in the Europa League

But so are Spurs

It's a final though, and we should win in a final with our experience and whatnot

But Ange always wins a trophy in his second season

And we are really really crap when we play other Prem sides

But Spurs are the only non-relegated Prem side having as bad a season as we are.

We're really crap though

So are they

Yeah but they've beaten us 3 times this season

So surely we're due a win?

Or not, I don't feckin' know.
