This is gonna be interesting, in the sense that I wonder by how many goals spurs will put past us. My prediction is 3.

I know he won't be available for this game, but is Pogba even back in Manchester?

I find it really interesting that the man (Jose) whose job was taken by another man (Ole) now has an opportunity to potentially make him lose that job, to the man (Poch) whose job he took.

The only way we can win this game is to keep it incredibly tight for the first 60-70 minutes and inject some pace into the forward line late on. Spurs don't seem fully capable of implementing the Jose way just yet, if they don't score a couple of goals in that period of the game, they seem very likely to run out of steam and give away a couple of silly chances. If it's 0-0 or 0-1 after an hour I think Jose would be worried about not walking away with the three points. If they can go 0-2 then I don't think we'll even get a draw.

For as average as United are I would have still fancied United to win this game if Spurs were still managed by Poch. They were awful away from home under him in the last 12 months. With Jose in charge I'd expect him to be extra motivated to win this game and will know all about the weaknesses of these United players. At best for United a score draw but sadly I expect a defeat.

The beginning of the end. Well, the continuation of the beginning of the end anyway.

Jose is going to take great delight in skewering and barbecuing Ole this week. And rightly so to be honest, it'll be more of a message to Woodward and co than resentment towards Ole.

SUBS - Mata (Lingard), Greenwood (James), Williams (Young)

    Man United 1 - 3 Spurs
Rashford. Spurs 0-2 up at half-time, then 0-3.

Crowd are very mildly booing at the whistle.

I can see us playing out of our skin and getting a lucky win, basically what mid table teams do every so often.

That will be enough to keep Ole on the job until January and Ed to keep his fingers crossed.

    1-0 Tottenham. Jose special.

Jose will also absolutely make a point of giving the Stretford End a big clap on his way on and off the pitch so there's zero hostility during the game, making it easier for Spurs.

We normally play better in the big games as it suits Oles plan to the t. Hopefully Jose wants to prove a point and they go at us and we catch them on the break, as defensively they look no better than us.

The match goers always showed their support for Jose - as they do for all our managers - it was Woodward, the press and social media in general that upset him.

The Stretty will give him a standing ovation.

In the absence of Pogba and Mctominay, do we really have a choice?

Unless you fancy throwing a disgruntled and unfit Matic into the mix.
    Better playing with 10 men.

The guy is bloody awful. Don’t know what he contributes?

This game couldn't come at a worse time. A reinvigorated Tottenham against us who are in absolute shit form. I can only see Spurs winning this game and then it's City on Saturday. We might be 16th come Sunday.
It won't matter, according to Ole we shouldn't look at the table.

    Our last 3 - scored 6, conceded 7. Spurs last 3 - scored 10, conceded 6

Both teams to score, over 2.5 goals.

    Easy money. Thank me later.

Apart from assisting Rashford for the first goal yesterday, not a great deal.

We have no viable alternative. Such is the shameful state of our midfield.

Week in week out I always tend to forget the past game we played and always feel confident for the next. It’s the same with this upcoming game. I have this feeling we will dominate them even though there’s little to no evidence of such happening.

Tottenham are very weak at the back. If Ole wants to keep his current supporters which are rapidly decreasing as the weeks go by he has got to win this game. I really don’t care how.

I put my prediction on 1-1. Ole is due a result that will keep him in the job till the next game.

Jose will eat this game up and gloat if we get hammered. Might be a bad day for United fans if we don’t get our act together.

good news is that one of the best midfielder in the world in Pogba could make a return for us.
Pogba one of the best midfielders in the world...
If that is true then it is about the that he starts to prove it in a United shirt.

Tottenham have been conceding goals recently but so have we.
If we cannot raise our game for this match then when will we.
    This could be interesting...

Normally our players upped their gear in this big games. So I expect a far better serious effort performance. I feel far more confidence our team getting good results in games like this than vs the "smaller" teams.

That said Spurs is in fine form I think and Mourinho knows many of our players, he'll definitely set up to counter and exploit our weaknesses.

Neutral pt of view - should be a fun interesting game.

Sadly I see us winning this and Ole buying more time.

They'll 100% score. Only saving Grace is AWB should be able to handle Son, but Smalling who usually bosses Kane is... smashing it in Italy.

If one of Pogba/Mctominay isn't back then I can't see us getting anything unfortunately.

Why do people keep referencing Pogba as a potential starter for this? Isn't he out for the rest of the year?

I'm pretty hopeful that we will do well - I'd happily take a draw right now if offered though as Old Trafford is a very tough place to go generally.

There's no way we win this game. Jose knows our players better than Ole or the players themselves do....

    You have to laugh.

You don't seem to be taking on board the reference of him knowing the sqaud inside out, so will lead to a masterclass. Had no relevance when United played Chelsea
Chelsea were a far better club with a great manager and eventually became champions while United were a step down in quality despite us having Pogba and Zlatan. This time around, Spurs are better quality on paper and United are even worse than before with an out of depth manager. I don't think the scenarios are comparable and I don't necessarily buy into the argument that Mourinho will pull off a masterclass just because he knows our players well. I think it's more to do with us being shit.

No doubt in my mind that we go 3 at the back for this.

Shocked if Kane doesn't score given how poor the defence and midfield are when 'working together'.

Friendly reminder to everyone that apart from 1 v Manchester City and 1 hilariously undeserved one v Arsenal, we've either won or played draw against every single Top6 club under OGS. Coincidentally, no club has a better record than MUFC under OGS against these teams.

But as it is with every time we play one of those teams: THIS time is the time we will get beaten 0-5.

Like it or not, the boy always come to play v these team, since we can play what we do best, the counter.
