Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, commonly referred to simply as Tottenham or Spurs (and nicknamed The Lilywhites), are a professional football club based in Tottenham, London. The Hotspur Football Club was formed in 1882 by a group of school boys, mostly aged 13 to 14, from Tottenham Grammar School and Saint John's Middle Class School who were members of the Hotspur Cricket Club formed two years earlier. Initially, the boys that formed Hotspur Football Club played games between themselves and friendly matches against other local clubs. The team entered their first cup competition in the London Association Cup, and won their first competitive match on 17 October 1885. The club turned professional on 20 December 1895, and in the summer of 1896 they were admitted to the Division One of the Southern League. On 2 March 1898, the club also became a limited company, the Tottenham Hotspur Football and Athletic Company.

Tottenham were the first club in the 20th century to achieve the League and FA Cup Double, winning both competitions in the 1960-61 season. After successfully defending the FA Cup in 1962, in 1963 they became the first British club to win a UEFA club competition – the European Cup Winners' Cup. In 1967, Spurs won the FA Cup for a third time in the 1960s. In the 1970s Tottenham won the League Cup on two occasions and were the inaugural winner of the UEFA Cup in 1972, becoming the first British club to win two different major European trophies. In the 1980s Spurs won several trophies: the FA Cup twice, FA Community Shield and the UEFA Cup in 1984. In the 1990s the club won the FA Cup and the League Cup. When they won the League Cup once more in 2008, it meant that they had won a major trophy in each of the last six decades – an achievement only matched by Manchester United.

Tottenham supporters have rivalries with several clubs, mainly within the London area. The fiercest of these is with north London rivals Arsenal (with matches between them termed the North London derby). They also share notable rivalries with fellow London clubs Chelsea and West Ham United. Tottenham play their home games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

    Meh. Players don't care.
Exactly my feelings now. It’s a shame because the first half display gave me some hope.

But the way we laid down arms was a bloody disgrace. Hard to get behind a “team” who won’t fight for the club they tell social media they live so much.

1-1 Draw. Our man of the match - David De Gea (or whoever scored our goal with De Gea narrowly behind).

There are a fair few players who don't deserve to feature at all in this game...but they all probably will.

    Standards and all that

We got Guardiolaed today. We will get conted against Spurs.

We will probably have sixty percent possession and they will put three past us.

No idea who is fit and who isn't but if most of the players are available I'd go:

    --------------------------Cavani---------------------------
    Sancho-----------------------------------------Elanga
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    -----------Pogba----------------Bruno-----------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    ---------------------------Matic----------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    Telles----------------------------------------------Dalot
    ------------------Varane-----Lindelof-----------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    --------------------------De Gea---------------------------

Maguire and AWB should not feature again this season unless injury necessitates it

In any other circumstance I'd say we squeeze this one out 2-1 but Spurs are gonna be in a battle with West Ham for 5th so I think they will take care of us.

Spurs are 100% scoring in this match, that much is a given, and I don't see us scoring 2 in our current inept form.

    Meh. Players don't care.
It stems from the top. The club itself doesn't care which rubs off on the players. Keeping Ole way too long - battering after battering - showed us they didn't care about this season, and our negligent January transfer window compounded that fact.

I'm not excusing the players attitude, but it's not all on them, imo. Everyone takes their fair share of the blame.

Hard to believe that after the first three matches United were hot favourites to win the title, but are now virtually out of top 4. Football, bloody football!

15 minutes in and Spurs are 2 up against Everton already. Kane and Son are going to tear us a new one.

Conte will seek just vindication against us for snubbing him earlier in the season. But we absolutely must win here. Too much is at stake. A proper scrap.

    Manchester United 3:2 Tottenham.

We are in for another tough afternoon at the weekend. Kane and Son look like a different pairing than the one we saw last time we met.

If it wasn't already...4th could be well and truly gone by the weekend.

Rather Spurs get 4th than the bleeding gooners too.

Can see us dominating the ball but spurs will make it difficult for us to break them down and they will just hit us on the break. There very good on the counter under conte… Maguire will get bullied of Kane and son. An early goal would open the game up a bit, hopefully it’s us that gets it and then we can counter them. Can see it being a tight game. 1-1

What have our players got to play for?
What will motivate them enough to pull their collective thumbs out of their arses?

Meanwhile, Spurs are coming off the back of tonight’s 5-0 thumping of Everton and have a good chance to be right on the tail of Arsenal in fighting for that top 4 spot.
Both of them having games in hand over us.
The pressure is on Utd just to get a result, never mind any lingering hope of top 4.
Another home loss will be a bitter blow to an already shambolic situation.

Has any team turned it around so significantly in the last 10 games, performance wise? I'm trying to find reasons to watch the game this weekend.

I’m more than confident that Spurs will win this. I think we are about to collapse in dramatic fashion once again and I’m sure we will follow it up with going out the CL next week. Luckily we should have enough to pip West Ham and Wolves to 6th but the season end can’t come soon enough.

We will lose this, then atletico. We can then finally forget about this nightmare of a season!

Be drastic and really make some changes, too many players haven't been good enough, I'd go with:

    DDG
    Dalot Varane Lindelof Telles
    Matic Fred Hannibal
    Elanga Ronaldo Sancho
