Venue: MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, USA
Competition: Premier League Summer Series
Kick off: 00:00
Channel: Sky Sports Premier League + MUTV

How the Summer Series works:
There are four clubs competing - Manchester United, West Ham, Everton and Bournemouth.

Each team will play each other once, the games scheduled as double headers on the same day in the same venue.

Each team will be awarded three points for a win and one point for a draw. The side with the most points at the end of the three games will win the series.

There is to be no extra time or penalty shootouts in the games. If two or more sides end on the same points, the competition winner will be decided by goal difference, then goals scored and, if they still cannot be separated at that stage, it will come down to head-to-head performance.

Amorim will be holding a pre-match press conference at 2pm today.

Typically struggle to stay awake watching us play at normal times, god knows how I'm going to watch this. I know these games are for fitness and what not but I really hope they show us something to look forward too next season. Some nice patterns of play, control of the game literally anything that suggest progression would do nicely.

Not really looking forward to these. We are taking a very thin squad and I don't think we will have a decent squad until it's over so that's great prep for the new season.

We are on sky sports premier league as well lads incase no one has MUTV

Wouldn't there be more $$$ against bigger names, though?
If anything, I think you'd get more here since it's one of those friendly competitions they're trying to make a thing rather than just standard friendlies.

I miss old pre seasons when we won every game with ease. I don't really enjoy the new formats of pre seasons that almost every club is having.

No way. In 2023, we were on a tour with Real Madrid, Juventus, Barcelona, Milan, and Arsenal, which obviously generated way more money than playing against Everton (no offence).

What a crap line up. Is that meant to entice Americans? They'll only have heard of Man Utd.

Sorry, I misread, I just thought you meant a standard friendly.

If you're in a tour with other big clubs then yes, probably more money but most big clubs this summer already had the Club World Cup + it looks like Arsenal/Newcastle/Spurs are doing an Asian Tour so it's not like you have a lot of choice this summer aside from doing something like this to get money in.

True, I forgot about the awful club world cup.

Is it embargoed or what, seen only one quote about Amorim being content with the squad and new striker not likely (it was enough to not care about the rest of the presser to be fair).
It said 2pm on the club's website but looking at the MUTV schedule now it says live at 4.45pm.

No penalty shootouts in pre-season friendlies is a real killjoy.

People have paid money to get in, if they've watched a drab 0-0 with 27 substitutions, at least give them some penalties at the end.

Those tours were organized by a third party promoter. I think Direct TV in most cases.

I wonder if they'll be on the pitch at the same time? With Hojlund down the middle notching a hat-trick & everyone saying our striker issue has been solved.
You jest but if we really are thinking of sticking with what we have then we need to hope that Ruben can earn his corn as a coach by improving Hojlund to the point of being a competent number 9 for us and a few confidence boosting goals on this tour would not be a bad start before the real games begin.

I remember his goal last pre season against Arsenal with that Solo effort. I won’t take anything that happens in this pre season serious until we see it in competitive games

Well to be fair he went off with a hamstring injury 5 minutes after scoring and that was the end of his pre season. I know it is clutching at straws but missing the vast majority of pre season and the first few league games certainly did not help and quite probably contributed to how badly his season started and these things can tend to spiral. If we really are relying on him and Zirkzee then we need them fit and high on confidence for the start of the season. If we do still end up moving one or both of them on it will be a lot easier if they are showing better form than last year.

The midtable Champions league!

Every game I'm just praying something clicks and a few of these bozos start looking like they have a clue again. I'm really looking forward to seeing Cunha and Mbuemo link up. I'm working though so I'll miss it more than likely, highlights the following morning. Nice crisp 3-0 please

Chance to see how we stack up against our competition. Have West Ham signed anyone yet?

Looked up some stats. How the feck did they win 4 out of last 5 matches against United...
