Without a new CF this summer it could be Bruno as a false 9 with a front 2 of Cunha/Mbeumo for the season.

According to the official.website he has been left out as he isnt as far in to his pre-season as everyone else and needs more time to be ready.
I guess we'll have to wait until 02:30 on Thursday morning to watch our new signing make his debut.

If Mbeumo hasn't had enough training then it's right he isn't involved. The manager would be blamed if he got injured. Remember what happened with Yoro last year.

I think we might see a fair bit of what feels like a 3-5-2 this year, unless we end up with a striker who performs, and even then. Bruno will play and if there's a partner somewhere in football for him to make a quality 2 man midfield (bit easier with 3 behind you, but still tough), we certainly don't have him.
Also Amad at RWB is an attacking enough option that he needs more cover and also 4 actual final 3rd threats on the field (Cunha, Mbuemo, Bruno, Amad) with 1 or even 2 of them (Bruno or Amad depending on the moment) coming from deeper is normal balance-wise for a team regardless of formation.
Bruno can create from a slightly wider CM spot like Barella does for Inter.

The back three of Yoro, Maguire, and Heaven looked much sharper and played at a noticeably higher tempo in the second half against Leeds. Hopefully, De Ligt can step in and deliver a similarly performance.
The front three is interesting. Is Amorim going with Ugarte and Mainoo in midfield? Or is it Bruno and Ugarte? Heck, knowing Amorim, we might even see Bruno and Mainoo together with Ugarte pushed further forward as a 10. You can never quite predict him. Personally, I’d love to see Mainoo and Ugarte get a proper run of games. That said, once Mbeumo breaks into the starting XI, you'd expect Bruno to drop back into the pivot.
Whatever Amorim decides to go with today, I’m just hoping we see a bit more urgency. Yes, it’s only pre-season, but fans still want to be entertained.
