If Ole can somehow resist the overwhelming temptation to start Lingard or Periera, I can see us scoring somewhere between 3-5 goals whilst conceding precisely 0. Resulting in a comfortable win and progression to the next round.

This management stuff is easy. I've no idea why so many fail to produce the goods.

We turned a corner in the last game, so we'll turn another corner in this one and end up going in a circle. 1-1, goes to pens, winner depends on whether Romero or DDG plays. If it's Romero we go through.

Would prefer to play any of the current top 4 than these guys.

Probably because I live in Wolverhampton and have to face their fans the next day.

I'd rather we take this cup seriously in the off chance where Liverpool are heading for the treble.

Sounded (think it was Norwich post-match) like OGS really wants to give Rashford some rest but I still think he’ll start this one.

How I wish we could hammer Wolves for once. Sick and tired of that team. Proper Bogey team for us , can't seem to get a result against them.

With all that in mind a scrappy 1-0 will do now. We really need to win this one.

Will we win this to equal our two game winning streak again?

We certainly are not beating Liverpool on the weekend.

This game is a perfect example of why season ticket holders should not be forced (held to ransom, by compulsory purchase) into paying for these cup games.

    £100 down the drain...

Call me crazy but I think we have a shot at getting something at pool, if we don't put out a full strength team over here. Good forbid this goes to extra time and we have a full first team out there, then I don't think we are doing ourselves act favors.

Under strength here and full tilt at pool. Only way to go for me.

I hope Gomes starts. The talk about his contract negotiations suggests he wants more playing time, give him some at home against tough opposition in the game we don't necessarily need to win.

Agreed. Spurs almost came out with a point and we're better on the counter than them.

Expect Gomes and Greenwood to start against Wolves, and Periera and James for aggression and pace against Liverpool.

I think Ole will probably go close to full strength (already said similar to Norwich so I expect the same 18 players give or take). However, this is what I'd like to see as a starting line-up:

    Romero
    Dalot Lindelof Jones Williams
    Andreas Matic
    Greenwood Mata James
    Martial
    ---
Grant; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire; Fred, Gomes, Chong; Rashford

Maybe Shaw, Young, or Lingard could be involved? I'm not sure about their fitness at the moment. However, I expect Maguire and Fred will still start, probably Rashford too.

Can see this going to penalties, will be a tight one I suspect as Wolves can certainly defend well and have the quality on the break.

I hope we go for this fully. There is enough rest for Liverpool. This is what I hope for.

    Romero
    Wan Bissaka Lindelöf Maguire Williams
    Matic Fred
    Greenwood Mata Rashford
    Martial

This remind me of an interview with a very religious Norwegian footballer some 20 years ago. The interviewer asked him if he ever prayed to God for a result. His reply was that it would be unfair on God to ask for something like that, because what if a player on the other side hoped for the same ? That would put God in a very unfair position. So he said he only asked God to stay injury-free.

Easy peasy. 2-0. I have zero confidence when we play away no matter is it against Watford or Liverpool but at OT is another story.

I am fine losing this one if we can have the pleasure of thrashing Pool over the weekend in exchange. But since that is not how football works, let's win this fecking game. I think we should unless we shit our pants for no reason again. Would love to see Mata start instead of Pereira or Jlingz

This game is a must win. If we lose it I think it will have an effect on me whenever we face Wolves because that's 5 games we failed to beat them

Can’t see Mata starting at Anfield so surely he needs to today, where hopefully he can continue in the the same manner as against Norwich.

I think we'll go pretty much full strength for this and get the win.

    Romero
    Wan Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Williams
    Fred Pereria
    Greenwood Mata Rashford
    Martial

    2-1.

Can season ticket holders not opt out of all cup games when they renew? I know that if you opt in, you are then required to pay for all cup games. The advantage of opting in is that you get a cup final ticket if we reach Wembley for any cup finals.

We haven't beaten Wolves once since they got promoted. 6th time lucky, eh?

Yeah agree... he shouldn't be starting at Anfield, so will probably get the nod tonight.

He has to show he can do it against more then just Norwich tonight - he was decent enough in the first leg, just needs to keep it up from Saturday.

This one is another tricky one.

Tired team, we'll be soon out of the Carabao Cup and soon out of the top 4 race.

Should we prioritize the FA Cup, or should we rest before Anfield on Sunday ?

To be honest, we don't have the possibility to rotate much and we will not field a competitive XI on Sunday.

But I'd like to get one or two players a rest before scouse-

    My XI

    Romero

    Dalot
    Maguire
    Jones
    Williams

    Pereira
    Matic

    James
    Mata
    Cristiano Lingardinho

    Greenwood

We will beat them today - and at Anfield we put our 3 quickest players on top and counter like mad men

2-0 up after an hour, take Rashford and martial off, for likes of Gomes and Chong, and save them for the weekend. AWB, Maguire and Williams also saved for the weekend to give pool a kicking. Lovely jubbly. (I can dream right?)

I can see us rotating the forwards but I think the midfield and defence will be pretty much the same as usual due to lack of options. Think we might see Williams tonight and Young against Liverpool, but I expect AWB, Lindelof and Maguire to play both games.

Think it’ll be Greenwood, Mata and Martial tonight, then Rashford, Martial and James at the weekend.
