Bollocks back to you. It's the club that came across as scumbags in that affair, not him.
He didn't want to renew his contract at PSG and instead of them being normal about it (like we were when Pogba didn't renew) PSG's sporting director Antero Henrique, decided to be a twat instead and ban him from the dressing room on match days. That was 6 months before his contract was up. Presumably in an attempt to make him leave in January and recoup some money? Who knows. Then in March they became even more petty, by suspending a player who was not even allowed to play for the previous 3 months, for going out clubbing on the night despite not being in the matchday squad.
It was his mother, who likened the situation to a hostage, not him. But importantly, he never had any problems with his manager or teammates. He wasn't a problem in the dressing room. He just wanted to leave. Tuchel said he loved him, but understood the clubs decision. He trained normally for 6 months despite never being allowed by the director to play for the team.
